Bridge Physiotherapy
Our clinic provides warm, comforting surroundings with a friendly and professional approach. We understand that everyone is different and that is why we have a unique approach to each patient and their problem. It's not simply treatment; we provide a tailored process that flows from pain relief through rehabilitation to injury prevention.

We seek to understand, listen and work as a team to support you throughout your recovery from injury and pain and to improve your performance. I didn't think I would need orthotics for myself but after wearing them for a while now, I can't imagine not having them! I don't feel as fatigued at the end of the day and I don't complain anymore about my feet hurting.
Services
As primary health care professionals, Physiotherapists combine in-depth knowledge of how the body works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability. Your Physiotherapy assessment may include analysis of posture, gait, and balance, joint range of motion, functional movement patterns, muscle strength, as well as neurological function.

Contrary to popular belief it is not normal for your feet to hurt. Yet many people report that they are experiencing foot and ankle pain, even though that is not what they are attending our clinic for. In fact as many as 40% of individuals will be experiencing symptoms in the lower extremities related to poor foot biomechanics.
Active treatments are things that you actively participate in to try and alleviate your pain and improve your mobility, strength and fitness. It is important to realize that greater than 95% of your day is spent outside of your therapists' office. What you do for yourself, is actually more important than what your therapist does to you.

I'm impressed by how effective treatment was for my injury. Bob is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to communicate details with your other medical practitioners. They also do custom orthotics.

I had an excellent experience at Bridge. I was diagnosed nearly a year ago with post concussion syndrome (PCS), I tried a number of different treatments over many months, few seemed to help at all. I was eventually told by a sports concussion specialist to find a neck specialist to see if neck issues were contributing to my symptoms. I'm not nearly fully recovered but I can say for sure that my work at Bridge has contributed more than anything to my recovery. A huge thank you to Bob and Maggie! I can confidently recommend them for improving your neck/ cervical spine health (and consequently reducing

I am glad I found Bob Jacobsen years ago when I had an old work injury that likes to flare up. The non-invasive cold laser treatments, exercises & stretches work wonders. Bridge Physio is my go to clinic when I need a tune up or another injury flares up. I recently started wearing orthotics, which have helped immensely. Maggie Jacobsen provided state of the art gait analysis and the ordering of my orthotics. Highly recommend Bridge Physio!

I am in Nanaimo for a few more days. Bob Jacobsen assessed my seized lower back muscles. We had such an intelligent conversation. He worked to return flexibility and booked another appointment, telling me he hoped I would not have to come back. Feel free to cancel, which I did because I am not requiring meds during the day anymore. Thanks so much!

After getting a neck injury from a car accident I started physio with Bob. He saved me from a life time of neck pain. And Maggie treated my arthritis in my ankles making walking possible again.

Extraordinary attention to detail and patient support. It is all the little things that they provide and their genuine caring that has won me over. Having the fitness centre as part of the recovery process is a huge bonus. Their equipment is state of the art and their passion / expertise is the icing on the cake. I have never had anybody care more about my well-being and journey to recovery.

Very professional, very knowledgable and most of all results. Through the help of Bob doing physio for my back injury and laser therapy for my carpal tunnel, I am able to work (drywall taping) all day without issues. Also thanks to my orthotics that I got from Maggie I am able to stand for longer periods of time without being in excruciating pain by correcting the way I walk.
