Parkway Village Childcare Centre is situated in the heart of Mount Seymour Parkway, in North Vancouver, BC. Hidden amongst lush forests, water and mountains, our program is often inspired by our beautiful surroundings. Services
Parkway Village Childcare Centre offers both a morning, and a full-day program for ages 2 1/2 to Kindergarten. Hidden in the midst of lush forest and spiraling creeks, the environment is our main source of inspiration for our programming. We pride ourselves on the philosophy that children grow through continued exploration of the self and the environment.
Children who are not well enough to participate in all program activities, both indoor and outdoor, should be at home. If your child contracts a communicable disease, notify the centre at once so that other families can be alerted. A doctor's written health clearance will be required before a child returns following a communicable disease. The following are definite indicators that a child should NOT be at daycare.
Parkway Village Childcare Centre has chosen to opt-in to a program offered through the BC Ministry for Child and Family Services, where parents receive a certain percentage of their fees back. The amount that is reimbursed is based on how many days your child attends the centre, and how old they are.
Parkway Village provides before and after school care at two locations: Garibaldi Drive and at St. Pius X Elementary School. Our Garibaldi site provides transportation to and from Sherwood Park and Dorothy Lynas Elementary, while our St. Pius X location is solely reserved for St. Pius X students only.
We encourage parents to ask their children specific questions about their day. This can help with language and social skills. To assist in forming these questions, we have a brief summary of our day posted near the communication board. Here you will find what your child ate for snack, what they did in circle, and any special events that may have happened throughout the day!
