A word of advice. Be prepared to have a revolving door on the the legal team and support assigned to your case. I was surprised by the short tenure of the staff as we cycled through 4 lawyers by the time we reached mediation. I also suggest that if you're not in a position to pick up your settlement cheque, it be sent by courier. After all, the fees will more than adequately cover that cost. Our settlement was sent by Canada Post during the busiest time of the year, Christmas.

A car accident took so much from me. I was unable to work and had bills piling up. The insurance company spent their efforts to harass, bully and follow me. I don’t think there is anything worse, than being struck by a drunk driver, being hurt and suffering life long injuries, and then have a corporation treat you like a criminal.
