Acted on the acquisition by a Canadian company of the operation of a U.S. retail chain with national outlets, the transaction involving intellectual property issues, cross-border bankruptcy laws, local U.S. state real estate laws, labour issues and management issues. Acted for a Canadian company to negotiate and conclude an exclusive advertising placement contract with a China state-owned central television station.
Successfully defended an appeal to the Ontario Court of Appeal on a judgment with all interests and substantial costs awarded in our client's favour. Land subdivision and costs sharing agreement arbitration on prime land development in Newmarket. Defended trade mark infringement actions commenced by international giants such as Microsoft, IBM, Disney, Nike, Fila, Warner Brothers etc.

I worked with Mr. Chan for my recent home purchase, and I'm glad I did. He was patient in answering all my questions, and spent the time to go through and explain all the forms and documents I had to fill. He also spent the time to work through some final inspection issues, and helped resolve them quickly with the seller's lawyer. Would definitely recommend.
