Jeff is a native Haligonian who graduated from the Dalhousie School of Dentistry in 1997 after receiving Bachelor of Science Biology from Dalhousie University, and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph. Jeff is dedicated to his profession, striving to provide exceptional dental care with the utmost patient comfort in mind.
All levels of regular and deep cleanings / periodontal cleanings polish and flouride treatments. One appointment porcelain computer-generated crowns and veneers (since 2001) CEREC / SIRONA. We use modern techniques and materials to remove minimal amounts of tooth structure to preserve the integrity and strength of the tooth.
Say hello to Dawn at our front desk. Dawn has been working with Dr Covert since the spring of 2014. She sincerely appreciates working with a great team within our beautiful community. You can often find her enjoying the Prospect and Halifax area out for a hike, soaking up the ocean scenery, enjoying delicious food and hanging out with her family.
We are pleased to offer our patients the latest in diagnostic technologies which offer better patient experience. Digital Radiography, or digital X-rays, allow our dentists to see inside the tooth. The X-ray appears on a computer monitor next to the patient's chair, where the images can then be enlarged to enhance visualization of problem areas for both the dentist and patient to see clearly.
The first thing you'll notice when you visit Shad Bay Dental is our friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our helpful staff will review your medical and dental history, and typically perform appropriate diagnostic imaging to review immediate needs, and to create a baseline for future comparison. You will then meet your hygienist for a routine cleaning, and after that, your dentist, for a complete dental examination.

Deeply disappointed, I live 2 houses away from Shad Bay Dental, and made an appointment over 3 months ago, for an evening cleaning.
Yesterday I even got the confirmation call and confirmed my appointment. NOW Today I received notice that my appointment has been cancelled due to Sick Staff, and would have to wait till the END OF SEPTEMBER to get another appointment. The receptionist didn't offer any accommodation or any assistance.
RIDICULOUS and DISAPPOINTING, so much for supporting local businesses :(

Wish I could give a 6! Maud McEvoy is the best!!! I've never had such great experiences at anywhere health related, the atmosphere there is just really welcoming and it's not rushed unlike many other offices. Dr. McEvoy ensures you get top class service, and cares so much about her patients. I can't recommend this place enough.
