Applicants must be physically present in Canada for atleast 3 Years (1095 Days) out of the last 5 year period. Days spent in Canada before becoming a permanent resident (as a temporary resident or protected person) within 5 years of applying for citizenship, count as 1/2 days, up to a maximum of 1 year.
If you are not eligible to sponsor your parents or grandparents to Canada, Canada has a process that is way simpler and easier than sponsorship itself. Applicants need to have atleast 1 year of Medical Insurance Coverage of minimum $1,00,000 Canadian. Apart from these conditions, Applicants also need to be admisible to Canada under various sections of immigration act.
