Peter Bruckshaw is a partner at St. Mary's Law LLP and is a member of the firm's Family Law Practice Group. Peter graduated with a B.A. (1st Class Hons.) in 1985, and graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law in 1988. While in Law school Peter was awarded the Harry Walsh Prize and the Canada Law Book Prize for academic achievement.

We are frequently asked by clients how much their total legal fees will be for a divorce or legal separation. It's a reasonable question. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to give even an estimate of legal fees, because so much depends upon how your case unfolds. There is no typical fee for a custody dispute, for pursuing spousal support, a division of pensions, or for any of the other issues that may arise.
Can a husband and wife be legally separated, when they continue to have sex after separation? This issue has considered, in recent years, by several Courts across. We have over 25 years of experience helping families transition. Quick and so helpful. He took the time to patiently answer all of my questions and explained the reasoning behind all of his advice. My partner had requested a cohabitation agreement and I was worried about how this could affect my relationship and my finances. Peter took my concerns seriously and made sure I understood everything. Would definitely recommend!!

I phoned to set up an appointment with this ....gentleman to have a will done on my behalf. after speaking with him and telling him i'd get back to him, he hung up abruptly. (I was a little stunned). when I called back to make an appointment with Peter and told him again i'd have to get back to him to verify on the date he set up for me he hung up on me so abruptly... while I was still talking. I was very taken aback...very rude!! I won't be dealing with this grumpy pants. in the meantime I received a call from a lawyer to say I could go see him today anytime after his coffee and cuddling his dog
