Garden by the Sea is a classic Caribbean bed and breakfast hotel: Bright, colorful walls adorned with local art, gingerbread trim, lush gardens with coconut and banana trees, plus an abundance of Caribbean wildlife. We are located in the heart of Estate Contant and Enighed, a quaint neighborhood within walking distance of Cruz Bay and a quick stroll to Frank Bay Beach.
The air conditioned Garden Room has large windows overlooking the lush tropical gardens, high beamed ceilings, a(new) king-sized bed and your own private bathroom equipped with a hair dryer, comfy bathrobes and an open air tropical garden shower with views to the to the blue skies above. The Garden Room is also the only suite to offer a private, separate sitting area complete with a comfy daybed.

We just returned from a week on St. John and our stay at Garden By The Sea could not have been more enjoyable. We loved the Wild Ginger Room, open-air shower, lush setting, and quick walk to restaurants and shopping. Eileen and John were gracious hosts and Eileen’s breakfasts kept us full until dinner! We appreciated the clean, comfortable, island-themed accommodations as well as the convenience of having beach chairs, beach towels, and snorkel gear available for guests. It was an unforgettable vacation on the most beautiful island in the Caribbean and Garden By The Sea was perfect for us.

UNBELIEVABLE PLACE! The best! So extremely clean. The room was amazing and the shower was beyond gorgeous. By far the best BNB we have ever stayed at. The owners are the most warm and welcoming people and took such great care of us. I really could not recommend this any more. You can wake up to breakfast (perfectly cooked) and watch the hummingbirds in the trees. It was really a treat to stay here!

Eileen and John were amazing! We are already repeat customers. Eileen’s breakfasts are legendary. She is amazing, John is amazing. Cooper and Fiona are amazing. Quick walk to downtown. I feel like Eileen must make new best friends each week. She is so fun! We will be coming back over and over. I won’t tell you everything they did for us, because I don’t want to put them on the hook. But they were our best hosts ever. Over and above, Eileen and John are the best. Come on Eileen!! (LOL, 80’s music)

My wife and I just spent a week at Garden by the Sea. This beautiful garden oasis is located just a short 5 minute walk from all the action in Cruz Bay. We stayed in the Wild Ginger room which was perfect and… has an outdoor shower. The common area is awesome, open air, lots of wildlife (birds, lizards, and the toughest two dogs on the island 🤪 Cooper and Fiona), an honor bar, fridge space, a ton of books about St John, and all the beach equipment you will need. Garden by the Sea is beautiful and perfect for couples. However, what really makes Garden by the Sea magical, are the owners

Garden By The Sea is an inviting BnB in a glorious setting. Hosts Eileen and John provide the perfect setting to unwind and relax. The flowers and plants are just breathtaking. Hummingbirds and banakeets entertain. We were in the Garden Suite. The bathroom was awesome, indoor but open to the outside.
Eileen makes an incredible breakfast every morning. It's a beautiful walk into town, no car needed.
We plan a return. I am missing GBTS!!

My husband and I enjoyed 4 WONDERFUL nights here on our babymoon, and could not have dreamed of better hosts or the perfect getaway. Eileen and John have created a truly magical spot on paradise. The views are… fantastic, and we easily walked to Cruz Bay every day for our adventures after indulging in homemade breakfasts ❤️🍽 HIGHLY recommend!!!

Our room was very clean and the shared living space on the deck was very nice and cozy. Eileen does an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome and her hospitality is was excellent. Garden by the Sea is an oasis of top notch service and comfort hidden away in Cruz Bay. The rooms are elegantly designed with island decor and have the feel of being right at home. The outdoor shower is… beautiful. Eileen’s home cooked breakfasts are better than any restaurant you could go to! The location is walking distance to Cruz Bay or a quick drive to almost anywhere on island. We highly recommend this stylish B&B for any couple looking to relax and enjoy STJ. We love Garden by the Sea!
