It was a really nice get away! Loved the balcony! But just be mindful because at checkout there was an issue with a random person obtaining our room info and ordering food through our room plus borrowed an iPhone charger that they never returned to the front desk - we advised the front desk that we never ordered food or even came down to the front desk besides checking in and to check the cameras - all was well the super nice lady at the front desk removed the fees and we checked out besides that I would have rated a 5 star

Rooms were ok. Heater really didn't work that great but enough to get thru night. The one mattress in our room looked a little wonky, caved in the centre. You could smell cigarette smoke on hallway when coming to room on 4th floor. Non smoking hotel to boot. Other than that ok. Friendly staff which was good.

I was blacklisted from this hotel about 5 years ago. From this nasty staff hotel. All because I was escorting back then. I enjoyed my stay there. But I would appreciate it if you un black list me because I Dont do that type of work anymore thanks.

I stayed her overnight on Dec 21, 2021 during the pandemic. This is an older hotel built in 1963. It is showing its age however the hotel is comfortable enough to enjoy your stay. It is a huge hotel with cavernous lobby. I found the staff friendly and efficient. During the pandemic the hotel is not busy and as far as safety goes, I felt they were taking all the necessary precautions.

Do not under any circumstance stay at this hotel! It is absolutely disgusting The rooms are filthy , bugs everywhere, cob webs all over the place including air vents. Bugs all over windows. Many rooms have no fridge or microwave. It is grungy and cruddy and not safe to stay there especially during these times you'd think they'd do extra cleaning and disinfecting. The bare minimum isn't even done. You're better off sleeping in your car seriously do not book a room here EVER!

Worst Hotel Ever!!! Rooms are filled with Bed Bugs and unprofessional Staff. Not surprised how many other folks experienced bed bugs while reading these reviews. I have pictures and videos of bed bugs in my room (there were over hundred of bugs under the mattress). If you do stay in this hotel, please make sure you check the mattresses right away. Hotel will hire their own company to do an "investigation" and 99% of the time they will say they found nothing without showing you the actual report because it's "confidential". But then offer you an "upgrade" to stay quiet. What a joke!! The Hotel Manager

Not a great experience. Found someone's discarded bottle of soda on the floor of our room, which doesn't instill confidence in cleanliness. We asked to have a couple spoons brought to the room and they said it would be a $3.90 charge unless we went down and got them ourselves. I have never experienced that at any other hotel. The wifi is incredibly slow, there is no minifridge (which I know isn't mandatory, but is pretty common), and despite being a non-smoking hotel the room smelled vaguely of smoke.

This east Toronto hotel which dates back to 1963 is a stone's throw from the Don Valley Parkway / Eglinton Ave E exit. It is rated Accessible and pet-friendly.

Front desk staff are friendly and professional; be nice at a minimum and you'll get that in return.  This is my first visit to this venue.

I'm only here to visit a guest staying in a room. I can't speak first-hand of the room experience.  Just keeping my social distance with the COVID-19 situation and the safety of all.

Paid daily parking is available, breakfast and WiFi are free for guests. Amenities include

Came on a company booking with a colleague. My colleague's booking was charged to the company while mine was charged to myself. I mentioned this when checking in but there was no negotiating with reception and they doubled down. As it was late I accepted this and went to my room. Soon as I entered my room, they called and apologized and said they'd made an error. Ok no problem. But after checking out I was charged on my card. So there was a charge when I checked in which was reversed but on checking out I was told everything was taken care of and then received a charge again... Now I have to go

The amenities are nice, looks like a decent restaurant with affordable plates. The check in gentleman was just not interested in helping with the check in process.
The room, well... I've stayed in sketchier motels that had far nicer rooms. Everything is worn and could really use an update.
I had a good night of sleep at least.

They switched us rooms after we complained about a problem with the outlet (fire hazard) and the whole floor smelling like smoke. We were really a lot happier with the room they switched us into, the staff were extremely nice and the new floor was a lot nicer, but I just found my baby trying to pick up and eat olive off the “clean” floor, it was NOT from us. Honestly this hotel needs a way better cleaning crew. I’m SO disgusted. I paid a lot of money to stay in a hotel that prides themselves in air quality and cleanliness and I arrive into dirty rooms with smoke in the air. Not to mention

My cousin recommended the hotel and my boyfriend and I stayed there. I woke up with tons of small bumps all over my stomach and hands and legs. I am not allergic to anything what so ever. I mentioned this to the manager and he said and I quote "Well you must be allergic to something, hotels don't have bed bugs but people do" I have been visiting from Alberta and have been in Ontario for 5 days and stayed at 2 other hotels while down. I did not have these bumps all over me my entire trip. Would not recommend.

The hotel seems to have a very cheap recent make over. Kind of a bandaid job.

The smell of weed is literally everywhere in the hotel. I was high the entire time without smoking a joint.

The bald manager at the front desk is miserable with his job and life and it shows. He has ZERO service and hotel management training.

This place has so much potential in the right hands.

Had it not been for that bald loser manager I would probably even go back just because of the location.

The front staff ( I think Mohamed) I had was very nice. I had an issue with my credit card and had to step aside to call them. Once I got it sorted and returned to the counter he immediately waved us back to him. He had everything all ready for us. Sadly the photos on the website are not a great representation of what the hotel actually looks like. The indoor pool had flakes of what I can only assume were paint from the bottom of the pool. There were never any towels, when I asked for some I was told they were down to one washing machine so they were struggling to keep up. When we got out we were

Is the Toronto Don Valley Hotel & Suites known for thefts?

My friend Meghan and her teenage daughter, Miss preteen Canada Globe (shown below) are staying there for a beauty pageant.

They dropped their bags off at the front desk prior to checking in and got a luggage tag only to return later to find their luggage GONE!

All of her new clothes for her special trip.. her pageant dresses..expensive makeup.. LOST!

The assistant manager.... was ZERO help. He said he didn't know how it could happen... and the District manager was supposed to call but no word after more than 24 hours.

I came here as part of a conference, and wasn't impressed. While my room was quite clean (compared to other reviewers), the heat didn't work properly.

The service was good at front desk as well as in the dining area.

However, I put one of the dinner plates on my table and noticed that it left a black ring on the white tablecloth. I inspected under my plate and found the source of the black ring mark. These plates were stacked so it's fair to believe that some plate tops were dirty :/

I would not recommend coming here.

A strong 3.5 star and rare pricing in Toronto. Very affordable and quite acceptable. The decor is somewhat dated and the staff do not wear uniforms, but otherwise it is quite acceptable in all regards and hard to beat at their very competitive pricing. Great location and value. Recommended.

I came here for a trip and the lobby looked nice but the rooms were small and dirty.

The staff were all very kind and they were all very willing to help us. I called the front desk in the middle of the night for a extra bath towel and they actually had people come upstairs and bring the towel to me!

Considering the price of the rooms, the hotel rooms should have been nicer. The sink was low and the shower looked yellow and dirty. I would have to agree with most of these yelpers for their reviews. I don't think this hotel is the best one to live in.

They also have a gift shop and everything

Stayed at Toronto Don Valley this past weekend with my sister. We booked this hotel on Hotels.com for $190 USD per night, a bargain compared to the price of hotels downtown over the same period.

When we arrived we parked at guest parking and made our way to reception. There were two guys behind the desk helping guests and we ended up waiting about 10 minutes to check in. Both sets of guests in front of us seemed rather high maintenance so it wasn't a big issue. Within minutes we had our key and headed up to our 5th floor room.

One note about the reception area...it is very narrow. While

This hotel is awful! The photos that they advertise are NOT the rooms you get. The address they sent us in the confirmation email sent us an hour away from the actual hotel.

The rooms are equivalent to a highway trucker motel NOT the photos that you see. Maybe they have one or two nice rooms, but the majority are awful.

Luckily I'm with loved ones, which makes it tolerable, but man, this sucks :(

I stayed here for 2 nights for business. Coming from Toronto Pearson Int'l on a Tues late afternoon, it took us about 45 minutes to get there.

Pros:
-Good rate. Customer made reservations for me and may have had a good deal, but it was $134 CAD/night with refrigerator and parking ($109/night without). This came out to $117/night USD.
-Plenty of parking in front of the hotel
-Morning breakfast buffet was very good (CAD $12.00). Breakfast is not free.

Cons:
-Outside of the hotel and lobby area are nice, but the rooms are old and outdated
-A/C was not on in the room and room was hot and

This is, by far, the worst hotel experience I've ever had. First of all, because of some inefficiencies in the front desk, and their communication with 3rd party bookings (expedia), we were stuck checking in for an hour! And this was at 1am, after a long day through Toronto!!

Second, and more importantly, through no fault of theirs, the city was doing water maintenance the next day. However, the bad part was that, we were not even informed! Luckily, one of us stumbled upon the notice and found that it was scheduled for 11am. However, the next day, water run at out 9:45. Absolutely unacceptable

I love this hotel!

Only chink in its armor is that the hotel is far from the action. A good 30 minute drive during prime-time (15 min during off-peak hours).

These are the reasons I am a fan

- Customer service was fantastic. From the bell boy, front desk, concierge (?)--service was impeccable!

- Outdoor AND indoor pool.

- Wifi throughout premises.

- Fitness Center.

- Food at the Restaurant, DV Bistro, was delish!

- Has a BBQ pit if you want to grab your ribeye steaks, slather the mustard steak seasoning and throw on the grill!

We had an issue with our first room and we were able to move

This is an OLD property! That's the first hing you will notice when you enter the guest floors. The lobby is open and bright, a little off the main entrance, but that's not a real issue. The thing is though there are old properties which have bad service too. Service here seems rather ok, not too bad. Let's see what the food is like, but for sure slightly expensive for the age of the property and the kind of fixtures and amenities one gets.

The heater is one where you will recall black and white movies, the bathroom fixtures you may find a chip here or there on the bath tub, walls
