In Ontario, the simplest way to obtain a divorce is to proceed "Uncontested". This refers to a procedure where one party files the Divorce Application with the court and serves it on the other party. The receiving party allows a 30 day filing deadline to expire without filing an Answer. After the deadline expires, the person who applied for the divorce files an Affidavit setting out the grounds for divorce.

Divorce is one of the most stressful thing in the world . I was really upset & lost , when I started my divorce . Luckily, I found John to be my lawyer .. He is not like some other lawyers that tried to get you into a bigger fight with the other side ( which might cost you much more money but not getting much more from the separation ). I first called John because I thought the office was close to mine and I knew I was going to have lots of appointments there. From the first call he gave me great practical and useful advice and that carried through the whole process. He sticks to the facts, is very thorough, honest, works fast and is outstandingly knowledgeable of the law. When you go to him its probably not the best time of your life, but everyone in the office is very compassionate and kind, and you can feel that you have someone really on your side.
