At Dor Martial Arts Academy, we teach our own brand of non-competitive Mixed Martial arts for the everyday folk. We combined our Jiu-jitsu and Kempo program to make a "Modern, Practical and Effective Self-Defense for Today's World". Our Japanese jiu-jitsu system already had all the component of defending yourself in every range possible, standing up, ground, clinched, and against armed opponents or multiple opponents.
And by adding the Kempo Karate / American Kickboxing component, we made the standup / kickboxing part of our curriculum so much better. Dor Martial Arts Academy is located at #31B /C Rowland Crescent in Riel Park, St. Albert. There is no better place to learn Mixed Martial Arts / Japanese Jiu-Jitsu or Kempo Karate / American Kickboxing in St. Albert.

Sensei Cal's first foray in to the martial arts in 1980 is credited to Bruce Lee's influence and his introduction of the Asian martial arts to the Western world during a time when it was taboo for Asians to teach the martial arts to Westerners. It inspired Sensei Cal to take up Kung Fu in his early teenage years in Vancouver.
In our adult japanese jiu-jitsu class, there are about 500 different techniques taught from white to black belt and many thousand variations can be derived from these basic techniques. The style is Ninja-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, and is sanctioned by the Trident Jiu-Jitsu Fellowship based out of Ottawa, Canada.
The Kempo Karate program follows the belt promotion requirements of the Panther Karate Club which was established in 1978 in Edmonton. Belts are awarded after students demonstrate proficiency at each stage of their training and pass a belt test which is administered by black belt instructors. Elements of the karate program include traditional stances, kicks, strikes, blocks and katas.
