After graduating with a philosophy degree (with Great Distinction) from Brandon University, Danielle went on to attend the Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba where she obtained her law degree in 2006. Danielle has extensive experience appearing before the Court of Queen's Bench in all levels of domestic court.

Danielle has additionally appeared before the Manitoba Court of Appeal, being successful both as Appellant and in defending appeals. Danielle is trained in Collaborative Law. Danielle's preference is to resolve domestic matters outside of the court system, but when a negotiated resolution is not possible, Danielle is well versed in the laws and procedures required to successfully proceed through Manitoba's courts.
Services
Our job is to help you navigate through all of these questions and find the best resolution for you and your family. We believe in honest communication and transparency and hope that you can find answers to some of your questions right here. Sometimes the answer may not be what you expected to hear, but we believe in providing you with as much information as we can, as no one will know better what will work for your family than you.
In Manitoba, in 99% of cases, property is divided equally between the parties, and each get 50% of the total family property. If property was acquired during a relationship, it doesn't matter who paid for something, it is equally shared by both parties.

It doesn't matter if your partner refused to contribute, or if you didn't want your partner to purchase something - everything acquired during your relationship (with some limited exceptions) is shareable. However, if you have placed any of these assets into joint names with your spouse, or into your spouse's name, they will be shareable.
There are documents and information that you will have to provide to the court if you would like to proceed with an adoption. The biological parent has nothing to do with the child - do they really need to be served?. Generally, the answer is yes. Even in a case where the biological parent has had nothing to do with the child in many years, or where one of the parents has an order of sole custody, the biological parent will have to be served.
Generally cohabitation agreements are appropriate where one or both of the parties are entering a common-law relationship or marriage with assets that they do not want to share, or want to share in a different manner than set out by law, in the event of a separation or divorce. If neither of you are entering the relationship with assets that you do not want to be shareable, then you may not need an agreement.
Wills can be very simple or extremely complex, but for most people there are not too many decisions that need to be made. Your executor is the person who will deal with all of the legal work associated with probating your estate after your death.

They will be in charge of calling in the assets of the estate, paying any outstanding bills, final taxes, and dividing up the estate pursuant to your wishes (your lawyer will help with many of these things, but the executor is ultimately responsible). We recommend that you choose one person to act as your executor, and ideally choose someone who is local.

I read these ratings, and always wonder if they're real.
Well, this one's real. I met Sarah Gravelines during the absolute worst time in my life. I can say Sarah's character is easy to talk to, polite, and caring. Good human qualities. During our meeting, she made efficient use of our time, and her pricing seems reasonable to me so far. (I'm not rich.) Some other pluses that I appreciated was that her office is not downtown in the top of a skyscraper. It's in a good neighborhood, at ground level, easy to get to, and even has parking. Sarah is sometimes hard to get a hold of, but I know that can

Very unprofessional. She seems to think she is better than everyone. Likely gets that from her mother who had to hand her the law practice.

Highly competent, professional service. No BS, straight up advice, without the attitude and overhead of some of the downtown firms. Not to mention easy access and free parking. Danielle takes the time to get the story straight then does what she says in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. Have referred friends and family.
