At Carewest, our philosophy doesn't end with how we provide care, but also the environment in which we provide it. We strive to create a safe environment based on resident choice and independence, "whole person" care delivery, a continuous learning, team-based service delivery, and ongoing quality improvement.
With 13 locations in Calgary, Carewest offers 18 unique programs and services to Calgarians of all ages in long-term care, rehabilitation and recovery and community day programs. At Carewest, we believe offering excellent care to our clients and residents starts with our staff. We've worked hard - and continue to work hard - to be an employer of choice.

Services
In 2021, we celebrate our 60th anniversary. We're proud of our history - but even prouder of our people and our ability to continuously embrace change to meet the needs of the community - leading the way as we go. Since opening our first site in 1961, we have continued to grow and expand in response to the changing health needs of our community.
Carewest programs and services cover a range of care including long-term care, rehabilitation and recovery services, and community programs. Our goal is to meet the needs of the community through quality care while effectively and efficiently responding to an ever-changing health care system. AHS Transition Services Coordinators act as navigators to the community services and resources by linking callers to appropriate resources.

As Calgary's publicly owned, not-for-profit provider of continuing care, we have supported thousands of individuals over the past 59 years in operation, and anticipate taking on a more specialized role in meeting the needs of those we serve.
In the following pages of Carewest's three-year Strategic Plan, we detail how Carewest will meet the increased demand Calgary has experienced in the areas of mental health, transition care from hospital and community programming.
