A neighbor brought me here. I had heard about the place, but never passed by. No I migjt become a regular. Their quiches are great, their cookies yummy. Also bought smoked salmon pate, fig and oluve tapenade,… caramelized onion dip and sourdough bread. Sooo good. Been told the soups are also very good and - that should be checked - they don't use but good / natural ingredients.

Epicuria is a food shop and catering company, similar to Thyme and Again. They make everything fresh in shop, while also selling a few items from local companies.
I usually purchase their holiday meal specials to bring home and reheat day of. I recently purchased their Easter Mother's Day brunch special, as well as a couple items during Christmas and Thanksgiving.
They have a weekly rotating menu which keeps things interesting, as well as tons of baked goods and little snacks like their homemade cheese crackers and dips.
I do find some items are a hit and miss and its all personal preferences

I stopped by for some lunch recently and overall it was very good. I think that the bulk of their business is catering and selling prepackaged to-go meals, but they do have minimal seating (only 3 tables for 2) if you wanted to eat in.
I snagged the last available table, and got a smoked cheddar scone ($2.40) and a bowl of their daily soup, which was red lentil that day ($3.95).
The scone was delicious. Very fluffy on the inside and full of smoked cheddar flavour.
The soup tasted very much like soup that I make at home. Which I feel is a compliment, lol. It tasted very healthy and was not laden

I have now eaten food from Epicuria twice as our school uses them for catering and both times all were so delighted by the food. We joked it was better than what was served at weddings. There is always plenty, well labeled/identified, and we received the option of sauces and special food for our vegetarian, halal, and vegan students. The food is fresh and delicious. I would recommend to friends and will use them myself for my personal catering. Bravo. Keep it up, Epicuria!

I have purchased many items from Epicurus in the past and have been amazed by the quality of the food and the flavor. Unfortunately last week I purchased a beef curry which was the worst curry I have ever tried. Shoe leather does not even begin to describe how tough the meat was. We ended up throwing it out. I returned to the store earlier this… week wanting to speak to the manager. Unfortunately she had just left. I expressed my concerns to the assistant who assured me that she would pass on the message and I left my email hoping somebody would contact me. No response. I also sent an email

Not having much in the way of cooking skills I rely on places like Epicuria. I appreciate their fresh approach to take-away food and love their Tuscan cheese dip. They have been absent from their MacKay St location after the fire last year and I have found their new location. Some one mentioned Nelson street but, I could not find them.
Does anyone know what location Epicuria relocated to. If so please let me know.
Thank you....Rita

Epicuria is as gourmet as it's name sounds. As a cook, I could really appreciate the dishes that they have for take-away. Delicious temptations such as curried chicken salad and fillets of salmon beckoned to me from the display case.
But I was just here for a snack! Even that was a hard decision to make. Fat chocolate cookies and date squares looked delicious. There were little mini cakes and squares. Workers stayed nearby to answer my questions.
In the end I chose a large pecan-caramel square. I wasn't disappointed! When I got home and made some coffee I bit in and discovered

The full name of this establishment is Mackay Street Epicuria. And when I saw the sign for the first time, the name (to be honest) puzzled me. What the heck is an epicuria? I thought it was a manicure/pedicure spa! If you are wondering what epicuria means, it is related to the pursuit of sensual pleasure, in terms of food and comfort. And boy, does this place ever achieve that! They are many kinds of food places in one - a bakery with delicious baked goods (their scones are to DIE for and cheap - I got two for less than $1.50!!!), a supplier of premade gourmet frozen foods ready to be warmed up
