We are a mid size HVAC contracting company and we specialize in condos, apartments and commercial facilities; so we understand the importance and urgency of prompt service and professional communication. Our Focus is on PREVENTING Failures and Repairs. Most mechanical contractors look at system failure and component replacement as a revenue windfall.
Not us, our name says it all. Many contractors save themselves money by using apprentice technicians on routine maintenance calls (some have as many as six apprentices to every journeyman); Prevent Mechanical saves you money by employing only Licensed Journeymen technicians or Senior apprentices who are trained in cost saving preventative maintenance practices and have the experience and expertise to complete their work quickly and getting the repair right the first time.

Services
We are a uniquely qualified Plumbing, Heating and HVAC / Mechanical contractor because we are not just expert Plumbers, Heating and Refrigeration Mechanics, we are also Southern Alberta's leading experts on heating & chilled system fluid chemistry and treatment. If you operate a multi-unit complex running off a typical hydronic heating system we can save you money.
We can save capital equipment expenses and costly repairs by rehabilitating corroded or heavily scaled systems that other contractors would consider a write-off, in many cases extending the useful life of the system components by decades.
We can prevent the vast majority of failures that other contractors consider "routine" by implementing a thorough and professional preventative maintenance program that, in most cases, doesn't cost any more than the less effective service you're paying for now.We provide peace-of-mind and cost certainty by providing a complete, monthly report on the in-service status of every major piece of equipment in your mechanical system.

If you've ever had thoughts like these, you're probably wondering why you shouldn't expect the same level of accountability and professionalism from your HVAC contractor as you do from any other professional service provider? Well, we think you should. Prevent Mechanical is changing the paradigm and with it, the entire HVAC industry in Southern Alberta.
Most municipalities in Southern Alberta take their water from the South Saskatchewan watershed. Glacial meltwater running straight from the Eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains carrying with it a virtual mountain of dissolved mineral solids including calcium and magnesium.
Thanks to this fact, we "enjoy" some of the hardest water in Canada, which is a why our clothes irons, washing machines, shower heads and any other water using appliance won't last as long here as they do in.

Corrosion is like the cardiovascular disease of building mechanical systems. It blocks heating pipes, creates leaks, freezes zone valves, causes pumps to fail and is the #1 cause of catastrophic system failure. Moreover, built up corrosion acts as an insulator (like scale), inhibiting the transfer of heat to and from the system, forcing the system to work harder and, ultimately, causing massive waste and increased cost in your energy bills.

This company was hired by condo management for multiple items (kitchen lighting switch, hot water heating) but I was charged at an unbelievably high price and to the worse, nothing was fixed after all and the same issue remained. They simply explained they didn't know the causes of the problem. I asked them to remedy these but they ensured I would have to pay for the visit again so I gave up bringing the service. Later, asked if they could reduce the invoice (as none was fixed) but it was rejected. Never use this company and look elsewhere - quite arrogant and n little interest in customer's concern

Came to property three times to deal with an under sink leak. After three visits the leak finally repaired. Was billed for four service calls and when enquired about the fourth service call they claimed they were called out but had no record of doing anything. Three service calls and a fourth mystery service call to repair a leak under a sink does not fit with their name or service claims in their business biography.

Scott came out the day after the service call and was quick, courteous, professional and did the job perfectly, even improving on the situation as it was prior to the call. I would certainly use this company again. Thanks for the fine service.

Incompetent and will attempt to rip you off. Had a leaky sink. Restoration company arrived first, turns off the shut off valves and tells us the vanity needs to be replaced. Prevent shows up and I ask them to see if they can make the sink usable until the vanity is replaced. During their inspection they break the valve stem off the shutoff valve but they are still able to turn it off so I change my mind and ask them to just shut everything off and leave it alone.Prevent then advises our property management company that we need 2 new shut off valves (one that is working and one THAT THEY BROKE)
