We have a broad variety of standardized and non standardized assessment tools available to use in order to provide a comprehensive assessment. Our therapists are specifically trained to assess clients with neurological dysfunction and complex injuries. Some specialized assessments we are trained to administer include the Brain FX assessment for mild to moderate brain injuries.
We have therapists who have taken advanced neurological courses to learn techniques and approaches to promote improved functioning of the neurological upper extremity and hand, mobility and walking. These courses include the NDTA Advanced Upper Extremity and Hand courses, and Advanced Handling and Gait courses.
Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) utilizes direct current on acupuncture points to act on the tissue and nerves responsible for causing pain, tightness and malalignment in the body. The handheld unit delivers low frequency direct current electrical stimulation to specific points through a point which resembles the nib of a ball point pen.
Neuro-proprioceptive taping uses a flexible, latex free kinesio tape to give support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It can provide pain relief, improve proprioception and optimize muscular activity. We are using this tape, with adapted techniques, in neurorehabilitation.
