This place and these people are exactly what the world needs right now. Our family of six arrived on Mayne to stay at a different location on Boxing Day night. It was cold,dark, and windy. Our accommodation was not available so we were stranded. Mayne has very limited hotels/motels to rent so we didn't know where to go. We called the Blue Vista Resort and met a Christmas Angel. They were terrific, and because of the late hour, allowed us to come to the resort, and have access to a couple rooms for the night. This is the small town, family run type of service that everyone should experience. The

The stay was excellent. The island as a whole is gem that I really hope never gets discovered. The cottage I stayed in was the Sea View and it was perfect, small, cozy, clean and simple. If you are looking for a resort or something fancy, this is not for you. However, if you want something rustic and a good sense of the island lifestyle, give Blue Vista Resort a call. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cottages were clean and provide all the amenities you'll need.

What a great place to stay! We were quite impressed with how clean and well cared for the cabin was. We rented one of the studio cabins which was perfect for me, my wife and our dog. It had everything we needed. Lise is such an incredible host. She makes you feel very welcome and was able to accommodate us with a couple of special requests. The resort has a great vibe to it and it’s a perfect launchpad to the rest of the island. Will stay there again!

We stayed in two different rooms both were clean and well maintained.
Arbutus has two queen beds and a bunk bed with one of the queens. Small fullbath. Good kitchen.
Otter has one queen and very small kitchen and a small bathroom with a small shower.
Great bbq area and small child play area. Picnic tables and chairs.
200 meters to closest beach access. Good swimming is much further.

Pretty quiet and a bit dated but we did enjoy our time there. The owner was super friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. Nothing fancy here, old school feel and dated furniture but if you don't mind that it's a relaxing vacation spot at a good price.
Our cabin had a fireplace which we put to good use and there are a few BBQs for guests to use along with a small grassy area with a playground. Dog friendly as well which is nice.
