Pre-orders are now sold out for Thanksgiving week. Both our locations are OPEN for takeout and our pastry cases will be fully stocked through Thanksgiving weekend. Both our 124 Street and Ritchie Market locations are open for takeaway and pre-order pick up. Both of our award-winning cookbooks, Duchess Bake Shop and Duchess at Home are available for delivery or preorder pick-up.
Services
We are happy to offer local delivery! There's nothing better than getting Duchess delivered to your door or having treats delivered to someone special. We offer delivery Wednesday to Sunday. All orders for DELIVERY will be delivered between approximately 9:30am-4:30pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to slot you into a specific delivery window and it is your responsibility to be available to receive your order.
We love pre-orders! Not only will your order be packed and ready to go but preordering makes pick up a breeze and is a huge help for our kitchen team. We take pre-orders for both our 124th Street and Ritchie Market locations. If you require large quantities of a specific item, please email us directly at info@duchessbakeshop.com so our team can assist you.
When ordering favours you are welcome to choose your favourite flavours. We have five classic flavours of macaron pistachio (green), rose (pink), lemon (yellow), tonka bean (white), and salted caramel (white) as well as three feature flavours that change each month. We do not recommend using the salted caramel flavour for packaged favours because the caramel can ooze out and get the bags all sticky.
If you are holding on to a class credit in the form of a digital gift card that you would like to redeem, please email us at info@duchessatelier.com so we can issue you a NEW credit to use on our new website. Unfortunately, digital credits issued from the Duchess Bake Shop website will not work on our new website.

Famous bake shop in Edmonton. People come from out of town for their goodies ! Go early or place orders as they run out quickly especially during the holiday season. My only gripe is parking is a bit hard to find in the area.

AMAZING! Ordered the Duke Cake online, was in touch via email the entire time and kept in the loop with the entire process from start to finish. I was sent a picture of the cake before delivery. Delivery was on time and the cake wasn't damaged. Wife loved the cake, tastes amazing and looks WOW. Will order from here again and again. Money well spent and such a smooth transaction. DUCHESS YOU GUYS MADE MY WIFE'S BDAY A SUCCESS. THANK YOU.

Delicious place to stop for some baked goods and a delicious hot beverage. The macarons rotate seasonally and there is always something delicious to try. The cakes and tarts are delicious and come in small shareable sizes (only if you want to) or larger but my favorite treat to take in a hurry is the Ginger Cookie: it's as big as your face and has pieces of candied ginger. The cookie is deliciously chewy and pairs perfectly with a chai tea latte. Currently only open for pick up/take out, but the line moves quickly. They're active on social media for the latest updates on dine in vs pick up. I would

One of my favourite bake shop in town! Yum!
Their cheese croissant is one of the best in town! So crispy outside and soft inside
Lunch is decent price and tasty. The place is always very busy at weekends. But it’s definitely worth to wait~

It was first time visiting this place. We got chocolate cake, chocolate orange scones, macaroons, cherry pie, and some cookies. Everything was great and probably the best bakery in Edmonton area.

Delicious treats made with quality ingredients. Easily the best brownies and pastries in Edmonton. Sour cherry pie is excellent. You cannot go wrong with their frozen tourtière. They serve the Colombian for coffee, and it does not disappoint.

Wow!
Two of my best friends surprised me with three Dukes for us to celebrate my birthday. Beautiful and delicious.
P.S. When I come into the bakery my friends should get a referral discount. They made a customer out of me❣️

My boyfriend and I found this place on a whim during our Edmonton visit. What an awesome bakery! We were there around 3pm and almost everything was cleared out!! The macaroons were AMAZING… All the ones we had were incredible (Shirley temple, pistachio, salted caramel, and the vanilla bean (can’t remember the original name)). Hoping to go back next time we’re in Edmonton!

Walking into Duchess is such a treat. I could stare at all the baked goods for quite a lot longer than I was able to.

The displays are just lovely. I do miss being able to sit inside, but I understand with covid you can't. We both ordered a scone. Mine was white chocolate raspberry and my friend got blueberry lemon. We also picked up a cookbook.

The scones were delicious!!!!! Wished I would have bought 5 more.

Service was also friendly. I'm still dreaming of that scone!

I'll be back because there's so many things I want to try.

Duchess is an Edmonton institution and I'm not sure how much I can add that hasn't already been said but I'm going to try!

They make some of the most delicious baked goods and pastries I've ever had. They are my go-to when I want to impress someone from out of town with Edmonton's dessert scene.

My top three favourite treats are:
1) Sour cream cherry pie
2) Key lime tart
3) Lemon meringue cake

The Duke gets an honourable mention because I never choose chocolate desserts but I would choose this over most others.

They've done a great job setting up their space with

I was working in the area and decided to stop by before they close to grab some ginger cookies for the kids. They had 4 left so I grabbed all of them. I also grabbed a mini key lime pie as I absolutely love these and they remind me of travelling.

The atmosphere in the store was good, very clean and organized but I miss the hustle and bustle of the place. I remember a time when this place was always packed and not a seat to be found!

The ginger cookies have chunks of candied ginger baked right into them and they are delicious. The lady who was helping me suggested that I try the frozen, ready

Lovely little bake shop located in a bustling yet enjoyable area. The inside decor is bright and warm, and plenty of seating available during normal hours. Peak hours you may need to wait a bit. We walked over here one day and found a seat no problem. You order from the front and seat yourself.

We had chosen a few different treats to try. We had the chocolate chip cookie, the Duke cake, and a strawberry shortcake sort of dish (couldn't remember the name of this one, sorry!). For drinks we had regular lattes. I appreciate the artwork that was done as it added to the whole aesthetic of the

This review is for Duchess' online order and delivery service during the pandemic.
Easy ordering online with prepay by credit card. They have a short window for taking orders so find out when it opens and get there fast; they are very popular. I ordered Callebaut chocolate chips, two types of premod frozen cookies (packs of 8) and a lemon meringue cake.
They phoned a few minutes from delivery, rang the bell and left the package on the doorstep. Unbagged you see it in the photo. I know it will all be delicious because that's what Duchess does. $68 total and worth every penny!!

The store wasn't very busy but that may be due to their significantly increased prices and weekday timing. I took a bite out of both the grandmere flourentine and it made my heart go pitter patter. Eating the dark chocolate croissant temporarily made me forget who husband is! The store is spacious, well decorated and clean. I have never bought anything here that I thought wasn't delicious. Give his place a visit!!

Not like Duchess needs another review, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Obviously the location is open, bright and welcoming and it is always abuzz with lively chatter.

I went back after a while (almost a year!) yesterday to treat myself and the husband to macarons - they were just as good as I remember. Additionally we tried the Early grey madeleine (amazing), butter tarts (even more amazing), autumn tart (so good), and the dark chocolate meringue (yup, très délicieux).

Now to the not so positives - I was super disappointed in the drinks. We had ordered a cappuccino and a London fog

Just like in paris. The smell is enticing once you open the door.

Macaroons. Cheese croissants. Madelines. The duchess cake. Lime tarts. Brioche.

I miss the days when this place just opened and everything was in stock and clean. Now its so popular the tables are dirty and my favourites are sold out by 3 pm. Ive come here for years when it was just half the size and there was only 1 or two staff there. Service was impeccable. I guess thats the price you pay for being the best parisan bakery in edmonton.

All the best of paris delicacies in a large cafe. Plenty of seats but they always seem full

This is seriously the best bakery in the city! I have never had a bad experience either with the food or the service. Even though the line is usually out the door it moves fast, only 15-20 mins in and out. Their macrons are always delicious and the there are new flavours regularly, recently the caramel apple, just lovely. The store is recently renovated and there is a lot more room for sitting and there's now a preorder counter, genius! Their tarts are also very good, notably the chocolate passion fruit tart is my favourite. Oh I can't say enough good things about this place! Hurray for

I'd had treats from here before but I finally found a reason to venture out and bring some out of town friends in. It was everything I expected. Like stepping into a cafe in Paris. The desserts were all beautiful and the coffee was wonderful.

It was a little overwhelming stepping up to the counter and having to just fly by the seat of your pants when ordering. Being a newbie I found this a little daunting but the staff member helping me was super sweet and patient. That being said the one who helped my friends didn't seem quite as patient as the one I was lucky enough to get.

I would

Visit Europe without leaving Edmonton!

The food here will send your taste buds on a tour. High quality bakery and light lunch items. But really...it's all about the BAKED GOODS!

Before I drove to Chicago, I swung by here and spent a small fortune on cakes so that my family could have a little sample of what I've been lucky enough to eat.

The bakery sells cakes, cookies, macaroons, pies, cheesecakes. They also have a barista making your favorite cup of caffeine. The food is a treat. The cream tastes creamier. The cakes are just the right amount of sweet. The flavor combinations

Love love love it here at Duchess of course. Is it a bad thing that it is relatively close to my work place in the west end? With the expanded space there is most def more space to sit though depending on the time it will get super busy.

Tip : get a table first before you line up for food!

I just went this morning with a friend right when they opened at 10am. Who knew there can be a line up this early on a sat morning? Interestingly most people were in mine to pick up food to take back home or onwards to wherever their morning lead them. Not many sat down to enjoy their treats. Of course this

Cute French pastry cafe w. delicious macaroons n pastries. Will get it to go next time as the seating is limited and not organized (empty small tables but chairs all taken) which makes the experience not a delightful one (Taking a star away).

My favorite was the chocolate cake w. chai latte.

When I am going to Duchess around the holiday season, all you could just hear are the cheers of my taste buds whenever I eat a holiday macaron!

It is wild how I have never reviewed this place, but this bake shop was what started my food adventures! There are just so many positive to Duchess, it's too hard to count. From the goodies, service, and even the interior decor, it's all just wonderful.

From all the times that I have been to Duchess, it's always the pastries that make the hair on my arms stand. The pastries are so good! I personally love the lemon macarons. The textures

OMG they have a Hogwarts Gingerbread House up to see right now along with all the amazing goodies to eat. If there was EVER a time to come visit this place NOW is the time to go here. I should NOT be telling you this but people, take your kids, take your family, take your grandparents, take anyone who was a fan of Harry Potter. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this fantastic Gingerbread House. Duchess Bakery has outdone themselves with this creation.

And, then there is the baking itself. After you are done admiring don't forget to pick up some great baking - from the macarons

It's hard to believe that I haven't written a review for Duchess. This is a world famous bakery that has gotten some serious recognition; remember when they were featured on a Buzzfeed article?

I've been coming to Duchess for a number of years but I must admit, I don't come often. The main reason is that it's always insanely busy here. Expect to wait in line, good luck finding a table, and get there early for the best selection of baked goods. Despite this, I usually make a stop here in the fall (mid-September to mid-October) to pick up their seasonal Apple Earl Grey

I tried this place because I've seen it on several lists of "best bakeries in Edmonton", and based on three visits so far that is definitely well-deserved! It's reasonably roomy inside but there's always a line on weekends, though it moves reasonably fast. The displays are filled with an amazing selection of delicious looking baked goods, from macarons to cakes to scones to cookies and croissants - it's hard not to try them all!

They're open till fairly late in the day, but be warned - if you turn up towards the end of the day they won't have much left

Oh my goodness, amazing macarons! And such a good price for each one too!

Each macaron is only $1.75 each! (so much cheaper than the ones in Toronto). There is definitely NO compromise on the taste despite its affordable price. My favourite flavours here are: Rose, Pistachio, and Salted Caramel. But honestly, all the flavours here are really good!

Also tried their Brioche Pepin - still tasted bombbbb a day after buying it!

The couple times I've been here there's usually a line up. The macaron flavours can also run out. But definitely worth the wait!

Edmontonians: RUN, don't walk, to the Duchess Bake Shop for a world-class mind-blowing delicious pastry experience! You have *no* idea how lucky you are to have such an amazing patisserie within reach!

A bit of back-story: I savor savory more than sweets, but with a grandmother who was a baker I've downed more than a few bienenstich
