Services
U-Pass Driving School was founded by Mr. Krisna Guriah in 2010. We have served the communities throughout Surrey, Delta, Cloverdale, Langley and Burnaby areas over a decade now. Your Instructor is the most important part of learning to drive and my aim is to help you pass your driving test and to pass on our knowledge and skills to you.
Steering and lane positioning, rules of the road, signs, lines, right-of-ways, corners, curves, tips for handling larger vehicles - all emphasizing the correct seeing techniques which make learning quick and effective. Moving with other traffic, correct lane choice, right and left turns at traffic lights, use of mirrors, understanding blind spots so you understand what a "shoulder check" really is.
As a new driver the first step is to obtain your learners permit. You can do this by studying the ICBC drivers guide and passing the knowledge test. The ICBC drivers guide is available for free at your nearest ICBC driver services branch. Once you have your learners permit, you're ready for your in car practical training.
Then your training will vary based on your current circumstance. As each driver has a different experience level, your instructor will be able to assess, typically within the first lesson, what knowledge or skills you may need to develop. After your first lesson, you are welcome to mutually discuss with your instructor the number of lessons you may require.
For beginners: Our lessons follow the rule from simple to complex. Early practice lessons take place in quiet streets. It helps the student to concentrate on having control over the vehicle. We start with explanation what to do and demonstrate how to drive using running commentary. Then the driver copies the maneuver.

Krishna is very friendly person and is real professional. He know very well how to teach people. He was calm and explained me properly if I made any mistake, he also provided good tips and tricks. My wife's friend recommended Krisna to us. I am so glad that I had Krisna as my driving instructor. I had my Class 5 road test today (Jan 19, 2022) and passed in my first attempt...all thanks to clear and precise instructions from Krisna. Krisna is one of the nicest instructor I have met (have worked with 2 other instructors...one was very casual and other instilled fear in me with way too many instructions and his opinions...fortunately, discontinued due to their time availability)...found Krisna as very balanced....his car is also new and easy to use. I needed to re-take my road test after many years of not driving. I took two lessons and a warm-up session with Krishna prior to my road test. I found him to be kind, knowledgable, and a clear communicator. In just two sessions I was able to correct poor driving habits that I had accumulated previously, and passed my road test first time. Very happy that I chose his service. Would recommend.

I did 6 lessons with another driving school but still did not have enough confidence taking my N test. After 5 more lessons with Krisna I managed to pass my N test the first time I took it! He is very clear with instructions and asks critical thinking questions during the lessons to really get you to practice the "see-think-do" etiquette for driving safely.

Krishna is not a good instructor. He gets frustrated really quick, might even raise his voice (NOT yell or harass), and would assume you already know the rules. Not at all recommend for people new to Canadian roads. He won't make the learning fun and use too much of his break. That way you don't get an idea of when and where to stop. I took three lessons from him. Initially I thought his lil aggressive style is what I need but then I talked to my friends and realized there are numerous things that he did not share with me prior to the lesson and while driving when i would make a mistake he would

So pleased that my friend referred Krishna to us. My twins did some lessons with Krishna before their N test. He was professional, meticulous, and instructed them very well.
