Aluminum wiring can be a serious fire hazard in your home, but Westridge Electric can help. Our Aluminum wiring solutions are safe, permanent and do not require future maintenance. An estimated 450,000 houses were built in Canada during the 1960s-1970s using aluminum wiring as a cheaper alternative to copper.
Virtually all residential aluminum wiring was installed as plastic-sheathed or cloth cable (type NM, often called "Romex") with no readily discernable distinction from a cable with copper conductors. Look at the printed or embossed markings on the outer jacket of the electric cables, which are visible in unfinished basements, attics, or garages.
Aluminum wiring can be replaced or repaired to effectively and permanently reduce the possibility of fire and injury due to failing (overheating) wire connections and splices. It is highly recommended that you hire a qualified electrician to perform this remediation. There are numerous potential solutions for the permanent repair of hazardous aluminum wire connections and splices.
Many homes in Calgary were built during a time when homebuilders used aluminum wiring as a cheaper alternative to copper wire. If your home is in one of these communities or your Home was built during the mid 1960's and 1970's, you may have aluminum wiring. Book an Appointment with Westridge Electric and a certified technician will perform a complete safety inspection including a check for aluminum wiring.

When our home inspection identified that several aluminum circuits existed in the home, I quickly needed to have a more thorough understanding of the condition of the electrical in the home. After some internet searching, I came across Westridge Electric as a highly regarded company who offer a number of options for Aluminum wiring. I contacted Westridge Electric via email the evening that my home inspection took place and spoke with Abby the next morning. Given that we were under a time sensitive Offer to Purchase Agreement for the home, we needed someone in that day to inspect the electrical

I am an engineer that recently purchased a house with aluminium wiring on my dream property just north of Stony Plain, Alberta. I discovered West ridge Electric after very thoroughly researching aluminum wiring hazards and the various temporary & permanent fixes. After talking back and forth with Dustin from Westridge for months, I had him come all the way from Okotoks to perform a thorough inspection of my home. The service thus far was unmatched and very professional.
Once the inspection was complete I agreed to the Copalum fix, among many other home upgrades for aesthetic and personal purposes

We have used Westridge Electric for over 7 years, they are our go to company for all of our electrical needs. We phoned them last week to get them to come and do some more work for us, we were told that it would be Kirk who would be doing the work and the time he would arrive.
Kirk was super friendly, professional and went through and explained exactly what they were going to be doing.
If you're looking for a Company that delivers on what they say then look no further..... You've found the right team...!!

The work was OK but they charged $100 more than the original quote I agreed to at the job's start. They are also marking up parts. They said it was $60 for a few things anyone can get at Home Depot for half the cost.
Beware of dealing with them.
My brother is working at Ellis- Don,told a journeyman electrician he was working with what was performed and for how much, and he said to my brother "your brother got ripped off"
Response to owner-there were no parts used that could have any hope of ever failing. The service man said it would be $600 all inclusive and then charged over $700.He also spent
