We strive to bring you a selection of the greatest cheeses from around the world, while always offering the friendliest service by our knowledgeable staff! We also offer some wonderful artisan cured meats - what the French call charcuterie and the Italians call salumi. Try our delicious prosciutto, delectable parmacotto ham or Porchetta Toscana arrosto (Tuscan roast suckling pig).

It was two days before Christmas. Our family received the devastating news that a close family member had suddenly passed away. The last thing anybody wants to think of is preparing food after a loved one passes on. Yet they must eat. I called Herma's. Although I knew they would be extremely busy preparing pre-orders for Christmas, I had to ask if there was any way they had the time to prepare a Charcuterie board for me to take to our family's home. I love Herma’s. When I go there I feel as though I’m in Europe. People often describe it as being the land of Oz in the middle of a farm in Kansas. You walk into an unassuming building and bam! there’s a magical display of merchandise all around. Herma has a way of decorating that makes it a delight to shop - actual entertainment. There aren’t just goods from Europe at Herma’s. She also has given a lot of local vendors their start and continues to support local all over Ontario. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly as well. Herma's was for me an overpriced, oddly arranged, very cluttered, and difficult to move around in store falling short of upscale and lacking in unique, hard to find items. In fact, one staff member, within five minutes of me being in the store, walked over, uninvited, and told me I could easily find the items I was viewing at other stores besides Herma's. Ha what a joke! Then again hmm was that their rude and snooty way of telling me to leave?
Regardless, I continued to shop and unsurprising (as another reviewer noted) they following me around the store too while white Europeans were left to roam

Herma's is amazing! There is so much selection of a variety of items, from beautiful jewelry and soaps to the best meats, cheeses and condiments. I am always impressed with the products and the top notch customer service.
I brought a couple of friends from Durham, and they loved it too. My friend mentioned that they came to Port Hope for my birthday and I said we have to go to Herma's. One of your lovely associates gave me a box of chocolates as a thank you and wished me a Happy Birthday.
If you want top notch products and service, you have to go to Herma's, you won't be disappointed

Alright...I am giving Herma's 5 stars because they are doing an awesome job filling their niche.
They are not inexpensive...you will pay a premium to shop there. However, you get premium items that are often impossible to find elsewhere at your average store.
They are super friendly and helpful when you need them and leave you be when you don't.
Don't see what you want...ask them...with all their years of procuring premium and unusual items...they often can find what you are looking for or will direct you to where you might find it.
If you want gourmet items in the Northumberland area...Herma

I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around to visiting Herma's Fine Foods. The location looks small from the outside but it is quite large on the inside. This was an amazing spot to do some Christmas shopping and to find very unique, foods, home decor, kitchen utensils, etc. I really would love to see more local food offered however that does not affect my star rating for Herma's. The service was excellent, the offering of goods was excellent and I really wish I would have gone sooner!
