Ron, Rhonda, and Maximus have traveled the globe personally curating exotic and unusual antiques and handcrafted items from around the world. We are a family run business importing from Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, and many other places. In our 8000 square foot gallery, you will find a market type atmosphere filled with treasures both for your family, your home, and your garden.
The Primitive Designs family prides itself on filling our retail business with products that are free from child labour, bought at a fair market value, and produced by family-run businesses, many of which we have been working and friends with for over 40 years. Everyone found their own way of keeping busy through this spring's lockdowns here in Ontario.

Ok! If you have never been here... You NEED to take a day out of your week-end to visit this authentic store! It's more then a store...it's a WOW factor of misc inside/outside decor items/trinkets. Beautiful wood carvings! Unbelievable amount of stuff for everybody's different style of taste for decor. Big or small. Even if you don't buy anything (good luck with that) the wow factors of the beyond giant size welded dinosaurs and transformers made of nuts n bolts and gears are fascinating to see! You don't have to be a kid to love this place!

Do yourself a favor and take a road trip to visit Primitive Designs in Port Hope. There's a lot to see and it's very close to the 401.
This place calls itself a gift shop but it's THE most eclectic gift shop I've ever seen! There's so much to see as you drive into the property. On the outside of the store there are huge metallic dinosaur sculptures. If those don't impress you then maybe the Transformers will.
Inside the store you'll find a lot of wooden carvings, paintings, trinkets, and some clothing items. From small items to huge pieces there's so much to see and purchase.
