For an indoor event, such as a Visitation, Funeral Service or Reception, the limit is 50 per cent of normal capacity to a maximum of 150 again with physical distancing. Our chapel capacity is 218 people, so under the current rules, we are able to accommodate a gathering of up to 109 people in our Shubenacadie location.
Outside events, such as a graveside service, allows up to 250 attendees with physical distancing rules in place. Please note: the use of non-medical masks and social distancing is mandatory while visiting our funeral home. Founded in 1928, Ettinger Funeral Home has been providing personal, friendly and professional care to the families of East Hants and surrounding areas for 90 + years. Ernest Ettinger, a carpenter by trade, started the business after apprenticing under John Logan, the local funeral director at the time.
