Services
The mission of Point Grey Eye Care is to fulfill the vision and eye care needs and thus enhance the quality of life of the public. We are independent health care providers who examine and manage conditions and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures as well as related systemic conditions.
Our group of knowledgable doctors will perform a thorough eye exam which includes visual testing, binocular assessment and eye health. Vision testing is a detailed examination of your vision with and without your glasses/contact lenses. You will be shown many different types of lenses to determine your optimal prescription.
Dr. Grace Ng was born and raised in Vancouver, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from UBC. Dr. Ng studied for her doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has received additional training in treating ocular diseases and co-managing refractive surgery at the Boston VA Hospital and the Eye Foundation of Utah.
Following the completion of a Specialized Microbiology degree from the University of Alberta, Dr. Jason Lau graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York in New York City. Internships include the Glaucoma Institute for Clinical Research and Education in NYC, as well as The Laser Eye Centers (TLC) in Miami, FL.
We at Point Grey Eyecare love working with children, and our optometrists and office environment alike are designed to help kids to feel comfortable when they visit our pediatric eye care center. An excellent place for eye examination and glasses! Me and my wife bought glasses and I had had my eye examination as well. My wife is a student of Simon Fraser University, and the receptionist gave us all information about the insurance coverage. He is very friendly, informative and supportive. Truly like their services!

This is a fantastic place to get your glasses fixed/lenses replaced. Boris is very helpful and knowledgeable, making it really clear what my options were, and turn around time was quick to boot. I haven’t gotten my eyes tested here and can’t speak to that, but I regret not getting my last new pair of glasses here as they have a great selection and very reasonable prices.

My first experience was over the phone and Mr. Boris was great. He provided the answer to my questions and helped book my 1st eye exam with Dr. Grace Ng.
My eye exam was interactive and lively unlike previous eye exams I have had. Dr. Ng was friendly yet professional. She consistently made sure I am comfortable and provided information that was helpful to my visit.
I learned about this optometrist because my young nieces also see Dr. Ng and I can see why. Kids would love her.
After my appt, Mr. Boris helped adjusted my glasses and while I was waiting I noticed other regular clients and patients

I've been purchasing my contact lenses here for years and a patient of Dr. Ng's. Recently, however, I bought a pair of prescription glasses from Clearly. The price was competitive, but the lenses were poorly fit into the frames, so I returned them. Not only did Boris do a way better job fitting the lenses, he also took the time to explain the different technology, and sat with me to ensure the frame was a good fit. This is craftsmanship and a personal touch that the online dealers can't beat.

I had a fantastic experience at the West Point Grey optometry. I had my eye exam yesterday, and Dr. Ng is very nice, knowledgable and helpful. She explains to you exactly what she's going to do before sherries anything, which makes it much better and less terrifying. The optician, Boris, is super friendly, helpful and nice. I was especially thankful for his honest opinions and care. He remembers the little details of my wish, and tries to help in every way that he can. What really impressed me was how quickly he made my new glasses. I was in for my eye exam yesterday, and I picked out a new frame

Easily the best experience I've had going to an eye clinic. They took me in on short notice for to help replace my old and broken pair of glasses. They scheduled me in so I could get a new prescription and new pair of glasses quickly so I didn't have to go long without any! I wound up getting a designer pair that I was able to pick up the very next afternoon! It was the best customer experience through a very stressful time. Dr Lau was very professional and thorough during the examination, and the staff were very friendly. I'll be recommending them to all my friends and family!

I just visited the store on Thursday, July 14th. I am very happy with the experience in the store. First, Boris recommended a frame for me and its brand is LIGHTEC, which is really light and stylish. The design is simple and I love it a lot. Moreover, my prescription is very special so that usually I will wait for a whole week for them to customize the lens. But this time, I have the eye exam on Thursday and they called me on Friday before 6 pm and told me that it is ready to pick up. This is fastest than ever. I had been wearing gas permeable rigid contact lenses for decades and finally accepted that I needed a pair of bi-focal or multi-focal rigid contact lenses, an inherently challenging thing to get right to say the least.

If there was ever any doubt, today just affirmed it. Rushing from DT, initially I was distraught to see the 'closed' sign at 6pm, late by 30min.
As I walked a few stores down, Boris opened the door and called, 'excuse me', nice touch! Recognized me, explained I wanted to quickly double check on those Prada frames. Turned out to be another 30min!
Ended up finding another possible pair, the final two...
And he's very upfront too, unlike recent experience at Mount Pleasant Optometry, a review for later on...explained all the prices for the lenses that he carries.

Unless I'm to believe that all these different people went to the exact same small group of businesses across several provinces and reviewed all the same businesses with glowing 5 star ratings!? I have been a client here for 15+ years and now take my children in for eye exams/glasses. I have always had exceptional service. I was a little nervous when the previous owners retired but it got a much-needed face-lift and the service has continued to be exceptional. It's great to have such quality eyecare & glasses selection available locally. I feel like my family is treated like we are valued friends when I walk in the door (even though I hardly know them). When you live in such a big city, it's a rare find. Highly recommend!

I had an eye examination for a contact lens fitting, with Dr Grace Ng. The fitting was very good. One or two weeks after with the trial lenses, I got the contact lens prescription. Then I could buy my lenses online. Their assistant Boris was helpful in answering all my questions, even one year later when I lost my prescription, he sent me a copy of it. I recommend them.
