Community Agencies Benefit Plans
Community Agencies Group Benefits Plan acts on behalf of organizations within the philanthropic sector and extends benefits to employees. Formed in 1971 the Retirement Plan has a long and rich history of providing a defined benefit pension plan to its Members. As the name implies the benefit at retirement is defined by the Plan's formula.

Originally formed to provide a pension for employees of United Way of Winnipeg and "United Way Agencies" membership has expanded to include not-for-profit social service agencies in Manitoba. Started a few years after the Retirement Plan, in 1979 the Group Insurance Plan is specially designed for not-for-profit social service agencies.
Services
Volunteers are the heart of Meals on Wheels. As a volunteer, you are responsible for delivering meals to seniors, elders, people living with disabilities and people recovering from injuries, all within your neighbourhood. You don't have to volunteer year-round to make a difference. If you can drive for a couple of weeks, a month or a season, we'd love to have you on our team.
This New Plan Design has three different extended health plan options that provide varying levels of coverage. All extended health options include coverage for prescription medication, hospital and ambulance coverage, paramedical practitioners, nursing care and out-of-country emergency medical. Two of the three options include a vision coverage component.
New Agencies enrolling in either Plan must be a not-for-profit social service agency with a volunteer board. In addition a minimum of 75% of the employees must vote in favor of joining the plan. Upon becoming enrolled, an Agency must make it a condition of employment that all future employees enrol in the plan(s) upon meeting the eligibility requirements.
