While surrounded by pure nature, Birch Lake Resort is nestled on the beautiful shores of Birch Lake, in the Algoma region, 10 minutes north of Thessalon ON. Discover great fishing, spectacular landscapes, and diverse habitats. Our Lakefront Cottage cottages are clean, modern, and equipped with many amenities.
Birch Lake Resort offers 6 charming lakefront housekeeping cottages available to rent for a family vacation or fishing getaway. Each cottage has two bedrooms consisting of a master bedroom and a second bedroom with bunk beds, comfortable for sleeping up to six people. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen consisting of a full size fridge and stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, utensils, pots and pans.
Cottage One is one of the original log cabins on our property. Its many windows offer bright light during the day and is the closest cottage to the swimming area and docks. The master bedroom is located on the lakeside; this is important to note because you'll enjoy the soothing sounds of a Northern Ontario evening: waves lapping against the shore and the lingering call of the loon.
Cottage Two has wonderful view of Birch Lake and its porch is the perfect place to watch the morning sunrise or evening sunset. This clean and comfortable cottage's interior offers plenty of room and cupboard space for any group or family. The cottage has patio access through the dining area. There is also a window located in the dining area which you can lookout while you enjoy your meals.
Cottage Three is originally a log cabin on the outside as well as the interior making it one of the favoured cottages because of the detailed woodwork. The layout of the cottage allows for slightly more living space for a larger family or group. The living area in this cottage provides a great lakeside view while relaxing on your vacation.

What can I say, Birch Lake Resort is breathtaking! The scenery was so peaceful and fill of wildlife. My family of 5 stayed for a week in Cabin 5 with lots of space for us all. The kids had a room with bunk beds and us adults had a separate room to our selves. Kitchen was equip with everything we needed for the week to cook and enjoy! BBQ was included along with a firepit and firewood for the best late night campfires! We had our own dock to jump off of and hang fishing traps. We caught many fish over the week with just the traps. Days spent on the lake were peaceful and relaxing. The kids loved

Amazing place!! Can't say enough good things about it. First time in Thessalon, first time here. Amazing cabins! Amazing fishing! Access to the kayaks and boat was an awesome bonus! Family had a blast! Andy was super nice and helped us out with every question we had and ensured we had an amazing time! Lots of wild life in the area as well! We will all definitely be back soon, and with the entire family, so probably will be booking All the cabins at some point on the future lol! Thanks again for the amazing experience!!

When I think about about a family vacation at a cottage on a lake, Birch Lake Resort checked off all of the boxes. What a great place on an intimate and beautiful lake. The cabins are cozy yet roomy and have everything you could possibly need. We stayed in Cabin 2 and the highlight for me was the morning coffee on the deck that is a few short feet from the water. It was amazing to start each morning listening to the loons, herons, moose and other various wildlife. We rented a boat for the week and it was docked right outside our cabin! The electric motors get you where you need to go efficiently

Had my reservations cancelled 2 weeks before our holidays. Reason given was “infrastructure issues” and the resort would be closed until the repairs were completed. I have family and friends in the area which is the reason why we go and they drove by and the place was full. I have the pics and the place doesn’t look closed at all nor does there appear to be infrastructure issues. Do not recommend this place for obvious reasons.

Amazing Fishing Destination! Andy the Owner is 1st Class, Very friendly, approachable, a wealth of Knowledge! Cottages are literally on the lake we even had our own Dock! PB was caught during our stay 5.5 lb Small Mouth Bass and lots of Pike! Cottages are clean, spacious and offer everything you need for an enjoyable stay! You won't find a better deal. Views are fantastic and you'll likely have the whole lake to yourself most day!!! Lots of other lakes to explore during your stay! Boat launch is awesome! Our go to spot every year!!!

Had a great stay. The new owner is friendly and a great guy. Makes sure you have everything you need for a relaxing week. Amazingly quiet, private lake filled with Pike and Smallmouth. Clean cabins with hot and cold running water, shower, kitchen. Other attractions are close by for day trips too if you feel like it!

This was our fourth time staying at Birch Lake Resort, but this was the first time under the new owner Andy. What a wonderful person he is and he takes such pride in his duties keeping his resort safe and comfortable for his guests! He made himself available always which came in handy when the water line broke and we all did not have any water, he had it fixed within 10 minutes!! We loved hearing about the ideas he has for the future of the resort and he is so knowledgeable about the area. We cannot wait for our next stay! I took my parents and son there for a week and we had an amazing time. The cabins were clean with both hot and cold running water, shower, indoor plumbing, WIFI, satellite TV for the rainy days, bedding and towels were provided, fully equipped kitchen and free firewood. Really al you need to bring is your clothing, food and fishing gear. Boat rentals are inexpensive and the fishing is amazing. The new owner Andy is an amazing man and is full of knowledge, he takes pride in what he does and takes really good care of you. His customer service is first class. We liked it so much that we have already

Great for families, excellent value for money. I booked cottages 2-4 with my family for a week. We were on the dock every sunny day with kids in the lake. Thessalon is a 15 min drive away with a nice big sandy beach if you need a change in scene. ATV trails up the road are good for blueberry picking. Cottages are a little dated but give you everything you need. Owner was super friendly and accommodating for all of our needs. Bring a fan if you're going to be sleeping on the top bunk during a hot week.

Myself and my wife just had the most amazing time for our honeymoon at birch lake resort .The cabin was so clean and organized. Andy the owner was nothing but amazing and knowledgeable about every question we could possibly have strongly recommend going to birch lake I have already booked 3 cabins for next year and I can’t wait for next year to come
