I had an issue with the site when ordering Blundstones for my daughter. They immediately took my payment but the order didn’t go through. I messaged the store. No one replied. No one apologized for the inconvenience or error or offered any assistance to make sure I was able to get what I wanted. $260 may not be a big deal to you but it’s a huge deal to me. A little apology and help can go a long way. It was fixed but not by any of you and I spent my $260 elsewhere. Poor Customer Service. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing to help out a new Customer

It is hard to give a fair rating we went into the store killing time but what I saw was good apparel for hiking camping and some swimming. The apparel was nice but expensive and probably worth every penny but not what we were looking for at that time . Side note Yeti is very expensive.
Good store for folks who live hiking and solidarity with camping even had some really awesome safety gear for a stuck in a place where you have no choice but to spend the night.

Went in today for the first time, looking for Blundstones. The Trail Shop website showed they had the style and size I wanted. I was greeted by a friendly associate who was willing to help, but also willing to wait until I asked for help. I found what I was looking for quickly and asked for the correct size, she quickly retrieved them for me, helped with try on and processed payment. Her service was the best I have received in a very long time! I will be back and recommend them for sure!

Had a really good experience here! Unexpectedly came into the store during the Yeti social gathering, which was a pleasant surprise with snacks/drinks. I was looking for a jacket, and the sales lady was very nice and helpful, and steered me to a jacket that was to my liking. The store is loaded with outdoor gear, for a variety of activities. A very trendy shop, with a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely going to come back in the future!

I was on Quinpool yesterday when I realized it had been over a year since I'd been into The Trail Shop. Well, I had to fix that mistake! I stuck to the main floor with the clothes, though they do have a second floor with bigger items like tents.
I love the set up of the store, though it doesn't seem very friendly for folks who aren't able-bodied with the stairs right at the front entrance. Not super great.

I'm a charter member of the original cooperative and bought nearly everything needed there since 1972, including my Mountain Trails original aluminum pack frame and orange backpack, which has done 10 provinces in Canada and 15 European countries (back when Europe was $5 a day). I'm the author of the very first Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia, Youth Hostels Edition 1975, which became a Canadian Best Seller. There isn't a finer small store in the country with such a long history. Okay, can I still get my 10% member discount? ;)

While the store has a great selection, the service was terrible! My wife and I stopped in to purchase a couple backpacks for an upcoming trip. We had been told that they had a good selection, and so we stopped in. BIG mistake. We went to the upper floor where the backpacks were kept. Two staff members were behind the counter, and gave us just a… cursory look before going back to their conversation. We spent a good 15 minutes trying on packs, with ZERO assistance from the staff. Perhaps we didn't look like their type of customers? We don't look like outdoor people, but our money is good,

If your in the market for quality outdoor sporting goods, this is your shop. The square footage in this store belays the assortment of fine sporting goods. Whether you are looking but a kayak or tent you can't go wrong. The items are priced for quality so don't expect to get a lot of bargains here, although they do have sales at times and if you watch for them, you will be pleased that you can walk away with items worth more than their price tag. Part of The Trail Shop's appeal is that they have staff who really have been there, done that. So many "sporting good" stores are staffed with people who just don't have the experience and background to advise you on your purchases.
The Trail Shop puts them all to shame. Knowledgeable, helpful staff are ready to assist with anything that you ask, including just plain sock advice (one of the simplest yet most important challenges to any outing).

The Trail Shop is essentially a mini MEC and for this reason, i'm generally a fan.
Lots of great camping equipment, rain and winter weather clothing, as well as hiking boots, etc. I'm planning to head backpacking this spring/summer and i'll definitely check out Trail Shop for rain gear and shoes before I leave.
Overall, you can expect to find high end brands such as: Arc'teryx, Lolë, North Face and Kuhl.

The store is great, but we had pretty poor service while looking for a jacket and shoes here. Every time I spoke to the guy on shift it was more and more confusing. And there shouldn't have been anything confusing about it - he just kept completely missing the point of simple questions. This was really a "so bad it's funny" sort of situation. What was this guy's deal?

Recently I needed a rain jacket. Not just any rain jacket, but a real, hard core, rain demolisher. Something that would actually cause me to be dryer after the rain storm.
I'm demanding, I know.
And demanding people require demanding rain jackets. And the Trail Shop, well, they met my demands (quite easily, I might add).

Although I am not one myself, I do like a quality footwear and clothing that will get me through our wonderful seasons here.
There is a lot of variety out there now a day, and if you are in the dark with the differences, the staff here can put your mind at ease.
They have just about every accessory you can imagine to outfit you in comfort and style. I would rather pay a little extra for something of quality.
I am sure with the staff and selection you will be happy with the choices here.
