Services
Grant Haddock established Haddock & Company in North Vancouver in 2001 after nearly a decade of honing his skills at a construction law boutique firm in downtown Vancouver. From the outset, Haddock & Company sought to provide valuable legal solutions to its client base of Housing Co-ops, Strata Corporations and Contractors.
Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992, Grant Haddock established Haddock & Company in 2001. Grant's preferred areas of practice are corporate housing law (including non-profit), strata property law, commercial and residential tenancy and construction. The senior member of our firm, Mr. Lee joined Haddock & Company as Associate Counsel in April of 2008.
Haddock & Company acts or has acted for many strata corporations (condominiums), property managers and owners with strata property issues. The Civil Resolution Tribunal (the "CRT") has the jurisdiction to deal with many strata property disputes. It is anticipated that many strata property issues that never would have been dealt with at the Supreme Court because of complexity and cost will now be dealt with before the CRT.
Our clients within this group include residential and commercial landlords including non-profit housing providers and manufactured home park owners. Our client's properties range from single family homes to townhouse complexes to high rises. Haddock & Company has developed a suite of services for certain specific tasks to meet the budget requirements of our clients.
In July of 2018, Ola became Haddock & Company's permanent presence on Vancouver Island when she and her family relocated to the Greater Victoria area. The move was especially timely as the firm had been working on plans to better serve our expanding portfolio of Island clients.

At Haddock & Company, Ms. Karpik's practice focuses on all aspects of strata property law, including the new Civil Resolution Tribunal, Landlord and Tenant law, Co-op Housing Law, Non-profit Housing Law, Construction Law, and General Civil Litigation. Her articles on landlord and tenant legal issues, human rights, and strata property law have been regularly published in the BC Paralegal Association Newsletter.

I am not a kind of person who often write a review.
That is why this is the first one.
I have an issue regarding Tenancy law. I have contacted a lot of law firm since September.
Mr. Haddock was recommended by one of the society, and I finally feel relieved even though my case is not settled yet( as I just signed retainer a couple of days ago ).
Kimberly( who is handing my case)is very professional and passionate.
When I first reach out Mr.Haddock, he seemed consider my matters and get things rolling promptly.
Compared with my previous lawyer, Haddock is a way better for sure!
I highly recommend

A friend of mine used this law firm for a case where he lost over $10,000 to a tenant who destroyed his house because a property management company put in a tenant without due diligence. The law firm said they deal with these cases on a regular basis, after my colleague provided an in-depth explanation of the entire situation in writing and over several phone calls. After the law firm gave him a positive outlook on the mater they requested $750 fee to continue the case, which they took happily. After a couple days they called back saying they can no longer continue the case as they were unable

We were in need of legal help with tenants who were extremely difficult to deal with. These tenants were seeking a large sum from us. We were grateful for the help Haddock & Company provided with legal representation. Our
dealings with our legal counsel was always prompt and professional. We were represented up to and including the arbitration hearing with counsel.
We were successful in our outcome of the arbitration case with our former tenants. We would have to attribute this positive outcome, because of our legal counsel representative from Haddock & Company.

Not recommend this firm. I feel so bad for my close friend who put all his trust and hope on this firm to get his money back but he ended up losing more money.

If I could rate this law firm zero stars I would.
They will ask you to describe your entire case in detail, will give you positive impression that they can "actually help you" with your case based on their "experience dealing with similar cases" only after you pay a $750 retainer. After the $750 retainer they came back and told me they couldn't do anything for me!! WHY TAKE THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE?!
My advice to any landlords or prospective clients: Do your homework before paying the $750 retainer to them, cause you won't see it back if they can't help you even if they sounded positive in

Zero or no star. I'd not recommend them to anyone. We contacted them for a rental damage of 10k because the rental management company placed a bad tenant. They asked us to provide them with details about the case, we did, they told us they can help us and to proceed with $750. We did, when they cashed the money, they told us, we don't have a case to win. We felt no transparency or mercy!. If you take details about the case and you know we won't win, why you ask for the money??

I would give a no star if I could. I contacted this firm to retain a lawyer for a strata matter. The first thing I agree with is they need to do a conflict of interest search. This doesn't take a long time to do however, this law firm doesn't get back to you at all. I sent a email asking for them to destroy my application as its taking too long to complete and until this day they still haven't responded back. I've worked with many lawyers over the years and it doesn't take long for them to complete a conflict of interest search or return a call. Lawyers are hired to help us during a stressful situation
