Rundle's Mission Conference
Built in 1957 by master craftsman Hobart Dowler, the Memorial Lodge beckons a time of creativity and pride in workmanship. The two-story lodge overlooks Pigeon Lake and features two stone fireplaces. Our programs teach students about the stories associated with this particular place and region, how the people here coped with and affected change and how this history is related to life in the region today.

The Rundle's Mission Society strives to promote the use of the site for reflection, environmental preservation, education and enjoyment by people of all backgrounds and locations. Located by the NW shores of beautiful Pigeon Lake Alberta, only one hour south of Edmonton, our 23 acres of forests and rolling hills create a peaceful setting for your next retreat.
Services
Along the northwest shore of Pigeon Lake is a trail that was travelled by aboriginal people for centuries. Ever since his arrival at Edmonton House in 1840, the British Methodist missionary Robert Rundle wanted to establish a mission. The friendship between a young farmer named Hobart Dowler and the Methodist missionary John McDougall led to acquiring this.
When you arrive at Rundle's Mission you will notice the large grassy hills surrounded by an expansive forest of flora and fauna. There is ample room for a game of baseball, Bocce ball, flying a kite or sledding down our big hills. Along the south side of the site is beautiful Pigeon Lake and our NEW Lakeshore Lookout Gazebo.
We are very impressed with the accommodation here. It is a wonderful place for a family of all ages and a great setting for our reunion. With two out of three of our family living in Alberta, we will probably return sometime in the future. Thank You very much. My Drama class rented Rundle's Mission lodge last year and had an AMAZING time!
School programs at the Rundle's Mission Historic Site teach students about the meeting of cultures. During the mid 1800s, people from different cultures met at the shores of Pigeon Lake. Today, new curriculum-based school programs teach students about the stories associated with this particular place and region, how the people here coped with and affected change and how this history is related to life in the region today.
Rundle's Mission Society. is a not for profit volunteer organization that has been part of this community since 1956. It is home to the Benjamin and Margaret Sinclair Provincial Historic site which includes an outdoor interpretive boardwalk featuring the history of the area. The on-site rental facilities are perfect for retreats, meetings, youth groups, weddings and families.

I have many childhood memories here. I used to come here with the Hazeldean boys club as a kid. It was a wonderful place to be.

Overall great facilities and perfect location for a group getaway. Managers were helpful and professional, even came to check in on us mid-way through weekend. The bunk rooms are a little cramped so you need to have a group comfortable with each other. The bathrooms are a little dated but clean, but again everything is about the main rooms and the surroundings. Both a chapel and a tipi on the grounds, trails, lake, town about 20 minute drive away. great for a non-profit conference or retreat.

I have enjoyed both the Lodge and the Cabins at Rundle’s Mission over the years since the 1980’s. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, just a step across the gravel road from Pigeon Lake. We have gone on many walks, enjoyed group suppers by the Lodge fireplace, even a birthday party catered by a nearby restaurant when friends and relatives camped on the grounds in their tents and RVs! All amenities have been kept up-to-date and modernized over the years. There is a great Board of Directors and Staff. Thank you!
