Services
Each and every teacher at the Sound Factory Music School is a professional musician and/or music teacher, working every day in the field in which they have spent their lives attaining the highest levels of training and skill. We have carefully hand-picked each person due to this wealth of experience, attention to detail, and dedication to the musical landscape, and we invite you to get to know them better through the links.
Our Waterloo studios offer a bright, welcoming, comfortable space featuring private studios with floor to ceiling sound-proofed glass walls in an air conditioned facility, providing a pleasant year round environment in which our students can learn and grow. We offer programming to students of all ages, from preschoolers to senior citizens, across a variety of musical disciplines.
Private music lessons are available in 30 (beginner), 45 (intermediate), or 60 (advanced or serious students) minute intervals weekly. We welcome students of all ages and levels of ability. Regular lessons are offered in a variety of instruments and music styles. With a wide variety of instruments available, we have the flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule and even book all of your kids on the same day to make your life easier.
We offer all new students the option of a 4 week trial with no further commitment required. Try a month, no strings attached, and see how great it feels to be the one making the music happen! Learn online and stay safe during the pandemic. Lessons are available online in any instrument we teach, in 30 (beginner), 45 (intermediate), or 60 (advanced or serious students) minute sessions.
With so many instruments out there to choose from, what is the best personal choice for you? Every instrument has it's own challenges and rewards, and speaks to an individual musician. Take a moment to read about each and get an idea of what to expect. Learn to play a wide variety of musical styles including rock, blues, pop, finger style and classical guitar or bass.

My son is doing piano lessons with Chadd. On our first night James came and greeted us and showed us where to sit and wait. I was worried that my 6 year old would be a frustrating student but Chadd is awesome with him!! Super patient and incredibly friendly. I think my favourite part is that even though the rooms are sound proof, I can still hear… bits of music floating around. It's very comforting and homey. Tonight I heard a little bagpipe and drums which put a big smile on my face. This place has a great atmosphere and really reasonable prices. 5/5 would recommend!

Attended very fun and engaging summer camps (such as Music around the World), as well as group piano and private cello lessons. For advanced music students, would recommend private lessons (quality teachers at lower cost than some places) over group piano theory and practice.
