The story of Cards Bakery dates back to the late 1960's when my Grandmother, Edith Card started selling fresh homemade bread from her home kitchen in rural Kingston. Soon no one was going the weekend without stopping by her house for sticky buns, a pie and a loaf of bread! Then, in 1987 my mother, Norma Card opened Card's Bakery at the corner of King & Johnson Streets in Downtown Kingston.
In 2005 I became the third generation to own and operate Card's Bakery. I expanded the bakery to a larger location on Bagot Street in Downtown Kingston. My sister, Krista Veryzer was a successful cake decorator and joined me at my new location. And now here we are, on Princess Street in the Bakery I have always dreamed of owning.

Card's Bakery is my first stop whenever I plan a gathering or event. Regardless of whether I am picking up a few cookies, a pie, a half dozen scones or 72 cupcakes, the service is welcoming, helpful and efficient in a lovely shop with lots of great gift ideas. Oh, and their cakes consistently exceed expectations and bring a "wow" factor to milestone events. Guests of honour are often hesitant to cut into a cake because of its beauty, but when they do, they enjoy every delicious bite! I definitely recommend bringing a little of Card's into your life experience - you will not be disappointed!

The person who answers the phone is so rude and unhelpful!!! The owner should start calling randomly to place orders because you would soon find out how awful the experience is. I’ve now had two very bad experiences trying to order baked goods from here over the phone. So sad because their baked goods are delicious! I truly don’t want to go through the experience of trying to order from there again though, will be taking my business elsewhere.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. They have the yummiest treats and an amazing lunch! Whenever I am looking to buy baked goods, whether it be for myself or an event, Card's Bakery is my go-to place. They also have the cutest little gifts. The staff is super friendly! I highly recommend this place to anyone.

For THANKSGIVING, I ordered in week in advance an apple crumble, a pumpkin pie and a box of brownies. I was supposed to pick them up on Sunday and they called me last minute saying you have to pick up on Saturday. (mistake 1. that's fine! I'll figure something out). I get there and they have an apple pie instead of the apple crumble. WHAT IS THE POINT OF ORDERING?? Very unapologetically, they look me in the eye and say: we did not get to it and we don't have any. What is the point of ordering. I would have walked out right away but it is thanksgiving and I doubt I could find the deserts anywhere

Cards bakery provided a wonderful chocolate cake for my son's birthday. It was beautiful to look at and delicious. But you'd expect that from a good bakery.
What really set the bakery apart was the service I got when I phoned to order the cake. The lady I spoke to was great and really did everything she could to help me, even though when I phoned their order book was full. It was great service and made me feel like a valued customer.

Card's Bakery has been around for decades, and in my opinion it's the best bakery in Kingston! Their squares are decadent, large size for the price and always moist and delicious. My favorites are the Peanut Butter Brownie (to die for!), the Hello Hudson, and the Nanaimo bars. Cakes by Krista is great (custom cakes), and every year I would get my birthday cake from here! The tea biscuits are out of this world, so flavorful and big! The homemade sandwiches are delicious, made on their homemade bread. Soups are incredible! Their old location on Bagot Street had more room, but their new

I was really disappointed on my birthday. I went in the month before and showed pictures of what i wanted and the girls seemed all good. I wanted a two tiered cake topsy turvy cake. So when i went to pick it up the day of my birthday i noticed it was only a single tier cake. and the girl said i wasn't told you wanted a 2 tier cake. Anyway it was very upsetting and they didnt do anything about it. :/
The cake tasted good though and cupcakes are good there with a good selection.
