Dr. Lam graduated with both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia. She was the recipient of several scholastic and faculty awards during dental school and was actively involved in committees and dental associations in her school and community.
Dr. Lam worked in Camrose, Alberta after graduation and is happy to be returning home. She is an active participant in several continuing education courses and clubs to keep current on new advances in dentistry. She is especially pleased to be trained on the Velscope Vx system, which assists in the discovery of oral abnormalities that are not visible to the unaided eye.

I am very grateful to have been referred to see Dr Hedy Lam & Uptown Family Dental. Like many people, I'm an anxious patient but the staff are very welcoming and put me at ease. I had several major fillings replaced (after some questionable care from a previous provider) and Dr Lam explained everything and is very skilled with the anesthesia. She managed two difficult repairs that could have resulted in root canals, but 4 months later everything seems stable and strong. The office staff processed my claims without any effort on my behalf. Everybody is kind and welcoming. They are compassionate and do great work. I had my wisdom tooth pulled and shockingly had very little pain. Everyone here helps to make going to dentist easier. From the receptionists to the dental assistants to the dentist herself. They don't hound you with calls or emails telling you to come in every few days, like many other dentist offices. When I get my reminder call I know it's because it's actually time for my check up and not just a sales call.

As someone who both loathes and fears going to the dentist, I was incredibly nervous to try out a new dentist. The team here made the experience so safe and welcoming. They walk you through every step, and want you to feel as comfortable as you can while getting dental work done. Dr.Lam and the team are dedicated to excellent client care and it shows!

Giving credit where credit is due. I moved from North Vancouver to New Westminster five years ago. I was shopping around the area for dental practices online. Somehow, I bumped into Dr. Lam’s office and made appointments as I haven't got a check up for a long time. I became a regular patient since then. I have been recommending my friends and family to the practice. The assistants, Nancy and Caitlin are very helpful and friendly. The office manager, Laura, is extremely helpful and kind. She deals with the insurance for me professionally and efficiently that I did not have to pay on my own at
