Services
A traditional dwelling of nomads from Central Asia, our yurts have a beautifully handcrafted pine interior with a 5 foot sky light. They are located in a beautiful wooded valley. The two yurts are separated by a large cook shelter giving you privacy. A perfect location for friends or family to rent both units and have the whole area to yourselves.
Patty's Porch and Frog Hair Lodge are situated in the beautiful wooded valley that runs through the property. They sleep 5 people each. Patty's Porch and Frog Hair Lodge have a built-in queen bed with a single bunk above it and one other set of wooden built-in bunks with comfy water proof, nylon covered foam mattresses (bring your own bedding or rent from us).
The Geo Domes are designed for nature-cravers and memory-makers. This is where nature and comfort meet. What better way to treat your significant other on a special occasion or "just because" than a unique stay in a geodesic dome. The Domes accommodate a maximum of 2 adults only.
The slight price difference between the Dark Sky Geo Dome and the other domes is because it is in a slightly more private location and has its own picnic shelter with barbecue. The other domes have a covered shelter on the deck for the barbecues. Otherwise the domes are identical with some decor differences.

If you're looking to experience that "oneness with nature" then sleeping in a tipi is for you. It's the next best thing to being under the stars. Lodgepole pine poles, a canvas covering, and the earth itself beneath your feet. A full size propane barbecue with side burner is included in the rate as well as a complimentary bundle of firewood.

Elk Island Retreat was such a delightful getaway! Close to Elk Island Park where you can hang out and watch the bison and wildlife. I stayed in The Woods cabin which had a great little fireplace and the best rocking chairs. Very cozy and amazing! Outdoor firepit and BBQ with a complementary bundle of firewood. Everything you need for a peaceful Alberta getaway.

This was well worth the price for a quick getaway and a luxurious camp like experience. A short drive from Edmonton, Elk Island Retreat is a gem situated right by Elk Island Park. On arrival, there was one small issue that the retreat staff responded to immediately and went above and beyond to correct. The staff were incredibly friendly and thorough and deserve 5 stars for the service alone. The dome itself is a very warm and cozy experience, with a great view of the trees making us feel like we were in the wilderness. There is electricity and heating in the dome in the form of a gas fireplace

We stayed 2 nights over the weekend at the new Spruce Hollow Geo Dome, and it is truly the premiere glamping experience! The room was spotless, beautifully furnished, and included a ton of amenities and features: temperature control, a mid-sized fridge with freezer, queen bed, Nespresso machine, kettle and mugs, power, massive propane BBQ, fire pit, 1 bundle of firewood, and more. For our first evening, we ordered the charcuterie board, and were beyond impressed by the amazing spread packed with largely locally sourced meats, cheeses, preserves, and spreads. It was an indulgent treat that got us

For people (like me) who want to experience the great outdoors without all the hassle of camping, this place is absolutely perfect. We stayed 2 nights in the Spruce Hallow Geodome and had the best and most relaxing experience. The owners Rick and Pat went out of their way to make our stay amazing. Their charcuterie board is to die for, and all local or small batch created, which I love to see. It really is a 5 minute drive from Elk Island Park, and the retreat has a beautiful small hike on the property. We will definitely be back and sending all of our friends there!

Nice campground. Full service. The lots are tree'd but also open to the neighbours. I don't really like being able to see the peeps next to me when having a fire. Walking trails were nice. And you can hop on over to the park. Lots of things to do there. They also has these cool little domes and cabins to rent. For sure want to go back and stay in one. Looks like they were building more too.

Stayed here for three months while in between houses. Short drive from Edmonton but still has the wilderness feel. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Beautiful sunsets every night at the entrance facing west. Clean facilities (washrooms, showers and laundry). Became my home for the summer and I’m thankful for that.

It was okay but didn't feel like a camping experience. Needs more trees so there is more privacy between campsites. Saw the owners twice in 8 days. They should build a pool, or have some things to do. Kids could only run and scream around their own site. Our site was nice but nothing special for the price. Likely will not be back.

Had an amazing mid week getaway. The yurt is new, immaculately clean and incredibly well designed. Located in the valley of the resort, you are far away from any distractions of other campers. We had an issue with the fridge making noise the first night and mentioned it to the owners and they immediately replaced the fridge!! No issues at all!! The resort is very close to one of the back entrances to the park and this makes for no lineups to get in! I strongly recommend these yurts! Very comfortable, great staff, and secluded. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!!

Staff are friendly. Very clean and quiet. Ample space between camps and I love that the firepit isn't stuck in one place. We were able to move it around. Bathrooms are clean and outhouses are also available. Not a lot of things to do here if you have kids but the national park is not that far so driving to the park we didn't mind at all. This is a great place if you want to get away from the busy city life, just relax, walk the trail and enjoy the evening. Will definitely go back here again.
