The Tompkins Family Funeral Home was erected in 1867, and is considered to be one of the oldest original funeral homes in Canada that is still in operation. The Tompkins family purchased the business in 1950. It has remained family owned and operated through two generations and is now into it's third.
One thing we've learned in our years of experience is that the ceremony is an important part of the final goodbye and the healing process. The Tompkins Funeral Home Inc. was founded in 1950 by Mr. Arthur J. Tompkins and his wife Mildred, who purchased the business from Mr. C.B Wright. Art Tompkins oldest son Frank R. Tompkins purchased the business from his father in 1970. Frank and his wife Donna operated the funeral home together until his death in 1995.
