Services
Stone Design has many years of experience grinding and prepping floors for other surfaces to be installed over top of the concrete. Whenever possible we like to use the concrete as the finished surface, but that is not always the case. We have been trained in the Ardex self levelling course and are versed in many technical applications.
Self Leveling concrete overlays provides a brand new skin to an existing concrete or wood floor. They can be applied over just about any substrate and offer a diverse array of aesthetics. Stone Design has been working with self levelling concrete products such as Ardex, Mapei and Rapid Set for over 18 years.
Stone Design specializes in concrete surface preparation for the flooring industry. Our arsenal of concrete grinders and extensive experience means that we can bring the right tool to the job, get it done fast, and have backup machinery if something breaks down. Our staff is trained to WCB standards and follow all procedures for indoor air quality monitoring.
Concrete polishing courses are readily available in any major city. There are many companies fabricating machines, developing new systems and flogging their latest products. Stone Design and its sister company, Szolyd Development, have been at the forefront of the decorative concrete industry for years, we have strong opinions on what works, whats looks good, and know how to do things efficiently.
Decorative cuts can be routered into any concrete floor. Currently, the trends are towards minimalist open floor plans with restrained patterning, although borders, or grid patterns can be helpful when a floor has bad staining, many patches or undesirable areas. Breaking up the surface with a geometric, or grid pattern will draw the eye away from potentially unsightly imperfections.
