Services
At Family Counselling Centres, we have abandoned the one-size-fits-all approach to mental health and wellness. We recognize that each case is acutely different than the next and that traditional office therapy may not always be the best approach in treatment. This is why we believe in holistic wellness; an approach that considers the whole person - body, mind, spirit, and emotions.
Family Counselling Centres is a private mental health facility, we are not partnered or covered by Alberta Health Services. As such, there is nothing required from your doctor to set up an private speech therapy services. If you'd like to request an assessment, we do ask for a few more details so we can better understand your needs.

Family Counselling Centres is a private mental health clinic. Our offices do not require a doctor's referral, nor are we covered by provincial health care. Our fees for therapeutic services reflect the 2020 recommended fee schedule set by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta. Receipts are issued at the time of payment, and can be used to obtain a reimbursement from your insurance company for the services received.
Family Counselling Centres offers an annual opportunity to one Masters Student to join our team for their practicum placement. This position is supervised by Tammy Schamuhn, Registered Psychologist, Executive Director and Founder of Family Counselling Centres. The position is typically based out of our Leduc / Rural Office with preference to those pursuing a career in Play Therapy, Animal-Assisted Therapy, and/or Equine-Assisted Therapy.
