Critical: Cleanliness
I have had a couple decent shellac manicures here, however the most recent visit was a year ago for a pedicure. The staff seem friendly but I shortly after developed a wart on my toe, which is a clear indication the hygiene was not what it should have been and resulted in painful doctors visits to have it frozen.

Can I give 2.5 stars? I'm pretty neutral about this place.
They are fast and it's clean, but the technicians are WAY too rough when doing pedicures. It's large and convenient location in Edgemont, so I go when I'm in a pinch. They can normally always take walk-ins, which is also nice. Unfortunately, I always have to tell them to stop bending my toes so hard or digging their nails into the side of my nailbeds when applying colour. One person actually made me bleed she was so aggressive with cutting my cuticles. Most appointments I say "ouch" 4 or 5 times. I've only been once that this didn't happen

Terrible ventilation. It smelled so strong that my friend and I had to leave before finishing my manicure. Plus my cuticles were bleeding from the rushed and rough way it was done. I do not recommend this place at all. I wouldn't be surprised if this salon is not up to health codes.

The ladies at the salon are super nice. There was a bit of a mix up with the bookings so I understand the frustration but they were able to still accommodate us. I chose this nail salon because of the great nail designs that they had posted on their instagram. If you go to this nail salon, all the ladies there will treat you well. Just stay clear from the man because he was extremely aggressive when doing my nails and did not seem like he wanted to be there. I have been coming here for over 5 years and I’ve always been satisfied with the service received. Emma is amazing at doing designs, she is so patient and kind. The nail salon is super tidy and welcoming!

I used to love this place. The service has changed for the worst. My sister and mom complained to me about how rough they had been with both of them. They both left with horrible pedicures and cuts. I figured maybe they had just gotten two bad techs. Nope. I went to get my nails done and the male tech was not very nice to say the least. I sat down and he started working on my nails. A bit of time goes by and he starts filing my acrylics. He was so rough, it was a nightmare. My nail beds were on fire. When it started to really hurt I tensed up. He barked at me to relax my hands. I went back here after many years as my first time was with a Groupon and it was an amazing experience! The staff and owner are really friendly and they are all super fast and talented at their jobs! The quality of work is also fantastic! I have now found my permanent nail salon!

Really poor service. Very rude and not welcoming. They do both manicure and pedicure at the same time so it’s not relaxing and everything was so rushed. I will not be back. Do not recommend going here.

The quality of the gel is good but the experience I had was terrible...I felt very unwelcome as soon as I arrived. There was a HUGE language barrier and the staff did not understand what I was asking for. It was my first time getting gel and they failed to give me the information I needed and I had a lot of unanswered questions (they literally ignored my questions and didn't even try to refer me to someone who speaks SOME english!).
I am also 99% sure that I didn't get the full service that other customer got for gel just because they knew it was my first time!
Very disrespectful and disappointing

I found the entire experience disappointing, the disinterested 'welcome', the lacklustre service, the three technicians eating food at the front desk right beside me, the lukewarm water that got colder as time went by and the lack of interest in the customers. My tech asked if I wanted a top coat on my pedicure and then disappeared into the back for ten minutes, I had to ask someone else if she planned on returning. The job was done and I left but I won't be back. There are far better places to go, even if this is more convenient.

I've been getting my nails done at sophia for about a year and a bit I went from having acrylics that were done by Rachel for a year to then switching to shellac gel nail polish on my natural nails. I've never been so pleased with a nail salon they perform with such detail the hygiene that is maintained at the nail salon is amazing. Great place! Clean lined basins. Love the chairs and the staff! Fast service which is a bonus. I hate sitting for hours. I get my toes and fingers done at the same time. Reasonable prices too. This is my go to spot after being so disappointed (and worried about sanitation) from other places on the north shore.

Sophia Nail Salons service is garbage they act all nice to your face and very fake to get a good tip out of you. However, that isn't my greatest concern about this nail studio. I got a regular pedicure done and they didn't put a fan under my toes and of course my toes got ruined later that day. The following day I walk in asking me if they can fix my ONE toe nail and still after fixing it they didn't put a fan on my toes and I had to FORCEFULLY ask them to put the fan on for me. Rachel does an amazing job! I always book my nail fills here. Very professional and pay attention to the details. Picture is of my Christmas nails. Pedicures are not rushed, you feel pampered at the end of your visit.

I just had a Gel Pedi and was very impressed. My first visit here, and they fit me in during a busy lunch hour. My nail tech was very thorough and spent longer than usual on the prep, filing and shaping of my toes. There are SO many gel colors to choose from. Her polish recommendation was a light pink that required three coats of color. The massage chair was very aggressive, in a good way :) 51$ with tip and tax. I will be returning!

I've been to a few nail salons with my young daughters and found that Sophia's has been the best so far. The staff was patient and respectful to us and absolutly made sure that my girls were happy with their nails. My manicure looked great and the arm and hand massage afterwards felt very relaxing.

Sophia Nails went above and beyond!!! Two days before my wedding, I was supposed to go with my bridesmaids to Spa Utopia. There was a miscommunication and Spa Utopia did nothing to accommodate us. We called Sophia Nails at 4pm and they were willing to take all 4 of us at 6pm. We got there (they were busy) and they put all 4 of us together in… chairs! They were friendly, the shop was clean and they did a wonderful job with all of us. I would say they gave me the BEST french manicure I have ever had, and treated me to a little fun sticker on my nail as I was the bride. They were scheduled

My young daughter (12) and her friend went to Sophia’s on Monday. Before they even left, the friend had a chip on one nail. The ladies told her she had to pay $5 for the fix. By Wednesday, my daughter had a… chip on every nail. Today the polish is actually peeling off. It’s noticeable the crooked filing of the nails. Bad experience for both girls, as this was a treat to themselves. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

I have been coming here since September and I always leave happy with the job that the ladies has done on me. Keep up the good job!!!!.

First time there today. I told the employee I was in a rush and yet she still took so long doing everything and then it was a mad rush to get my toes painted and they aren't great. My nails were filed crooked and I'm just super unimpressed. It seemed the employee was fairly new and I'm hoping that this was just an "off" day. I'd go back but request someone more experienced have more time (obviously).
