Chrysalis Society
When women heal from addiction and violence, so do their children, families and communities. By supporting Chrysalis Society, you're helping women access the supports they need to overcome the devastating impacts of addiction, poverty, and violence.

Since 1988, Chrysalis Society has supported over 3,500 women throughout B.C. Chrysalis Society is a registered Canadian Charity that operates four programs; three long-term addiction recovery homes and subsidized housing for marginalized women in Vancouver.Chrysalis has a long-standing reputation for working with highly marginalized women with complex mental health issues.
Services
Our Voluntary Board of Directors is comprised of dedicated individuals who have made a commitment to lend their skills, energy & passion towards social justice and change. Alexa works in Indigenous health and drug policy research, specializing in decriminalization, Indigenous self-determination, and community-based work.
Additional to volunteers, our Society uses the skills, dedication and wisdom of a team that includes professional full-time, part-time and casual relief staff in the operation of New Dawn, New Day & New Way.

Since 1995, Shannon Skilton has worked extensively within the spectrum of women's addiction services, and subsequently has a thorough understanding of the complex interdependence of women's experience of addiction, violence, homelessness, poverty and exploitation.
Our homes are in residential neighbourhoods and are strategically designed to provide trauma informed environments that promote a culture of safety, empowerment and healing. Each home has a garden space and areas for meditation, crafts and fitness. Any other activities related to the self-identified goals within her personal recovery plan.
All our houses are comfortable and truly home-like. For women who have been entrenched in homelessness, the experience of our unique home environment is an invaluable component in their ultimate capacity to create and maintain their own homes within their recovery - our home-like environments inspire, teach, and contribute to women's lasting success.
At Chrysalis, the diversity of women's unique and individual journeys is respected and celebrated! Anyone who has ever resided at New Dawn, New Day or New Way, for any length of time, is honoured and respected an Alumnae of Chrysalis Society - for life. All Alumnae are invited and encouraged to connect with each other online through the Alumnae Facebook Group to share successes and support w/ each other!

When Bitcoin was introduced by Satoshi people were largely ignorant of the harmful side effects of it not until it becomes the most popular digital marketing currency and with Bitcoin I was able to invest on a good broker website and with that I can make thousands of money trading Bitcoin after mining successfully by an Expert trader called Kathrine.I’ve used my $1000 to earn $11,000 with Kathrine, and you can get in touch with her website details for contacting her on Whatsapp: +12523688769 Gmail:kathrinelucas170@gmail.com

Chrysalis society gave me a safe place to recover from addiction and abuse. I learned so many teaching which continue to help me today. I was homeless when I got there and this became my home . I lived in second stage as well and this organization continues to be a big influence of how I live. I am 15 years clean today and I want to say thank you. I would not be here without your support and help.

Today I celebrate 14 years. I want to thank Chrysalis Society for everything they did to help me lay a foundation in recovery. I found a safe place to heal, and met amazing women who encouraged me, and helped me be the person I am today. I became empowered there, and not only recovered from addiction but violence as well. I stayed in all 3 houses… over a period of 11 months while I waited for safe, independent housing. I volunteered and eventually even worked there, learning how to hold space for others. Words can never express all I learned there, or my deep gratitude for the homes you

The way I was treated by staff when I was in New Day is the kind of conduct that can ruin lives. I do not take this lightly at all and it is a very serious issue to me. I saw women get ostracized and gossiped about by this facilitator Danielle Gaucher and she did the same thing to me. Women get discharged from the program for reasons that do not… warrant such an extreme course of action. I was left essentially homeless when I hadn't even used or done anything to deserve it. I think this is unethical. I was alienated by Danielle in front of the entire group, after she let someone attack me

They were kind enough to accept me into their home, sadly I left within 48hrs and it was the biggest mistake I've ever made

When I first walked thru the front doors of New Dawn, I felt hopeless and lost. I see it now as the 'gift of desperation'. It was a tough ride at first. But if you want something bad enough, you persevere, right? I made it to the Rock Ceremony in February 2015! I am grateful for the women I met at New Dawn - staff and clients alike. And I am… grateful for the 'new way of seeing things' New Dawn has taught me. I am living a better quality of life now and I definitely attribute that to having the Chrysalis Society as part of my journey..... thank you, Andi. :-)

I think this Society is amazing for hanging in when times have been tough which shows the women who use the services that they need to keep working hard and their rewards will come. I know that we are judged by how we care for those most in need and I see Chrysalis Society as the most caring of organizations.

They gave me a wonderful foundation, for ongoing recovery. I learned better communication skills, to find my voice and what self care is all about! They also expanded my recovery base of women and I have very good friends now, from some of my peers, while at the houses and some who came after me. They keep giving a handup to women who want to get recovery.
