Services
We are proud to have award winning choreographers and staff who have been recognized as leaders in all styles of dance in Winnipeg, Canada, the United States and around the world. This level of excellence is part of the foundation of our own teacher training program where we have developed young teachers for over 35 years.
Our Invitational Program is designed for students who have the requisite skills and interest, in more intensive training and competing. We are proud to have garnered more top awards locally, nationally and internationally than any school in Winnipeg. Many of our Invitational students go on to perform or teach professionally.
Designed for the student striving towards a professional dance career or just interested in expanded dance opportunities. The Pre Professional Program focuses on additional choreography, training and travel performances outside of Winnipeg. Students must be enrolled in the Shelley Shearer School of Dance full-time Invitational Program they were invited to.

I had taken my girl to this place for a couple of years , I supported her, and I couldn’t get her to this year as I lost my job due to Covid! I emailed to see if I could get my refund back , since I was out of a job! They told me they couldn’t! Terrible place , if this is how Shelley gets her money! Very sad , I was so disappointed I would think due to the circumstances this year and d COVID-19 they would make an exception especially since I been a supporter for a few years and paid full all the time. I have been the musical theatre teacher at the school for all the recreational programs and invitational programs for 5 seasons. I am privileged to work with some of the most talented , hard working , enthusiastic and disciplined students. Shelley Shearer cares about the evolution of her class programming to keep up to date with professional industry standards, and protects her staff and teachers to the highest degree. Shelley Shearer School of Dance has been my dance home since I was 3 years old. I have loved learning and growing under the care and guidance of their wonderful teachers! Dancing here is a wonderful experience! I have been able to travel and compete as a Pre Professional Company Dancer in Canada and the U.S. with SSSOD. The training that I have received has been incredible!

I have danced at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance practically my whole life, and it is by far the best studio in the city of Winnipeg. We are a huge family that come together and create amazing masterpieces of art that are performed at the end of the year recital. There are classes for all ages, and genres for everyone! From Ballet, to Hip Hop, the Shelley Shearer School of Dance never fails to impress me, and I love it so much!

For the past twenty years, Shelley Shearer School of Dance has been my home away from home! The warmth, knowledge, and passion for dance is evident among all staff members in the studio. I have been dancing at Shelley's for 23 years, first as a student and now as an assistant teacher and I can say hands down that this is the best dance school in the city of Winnipeg, and in my opinion, in all of Canada. The quality of teaching and attention to detail that goes on at Shelley Shearer School of Dance is the best that you will find. The staff are all extremely friendly (and of course talented) and spread their passion and love for dance with all of their students.

I have been with Shelley Shearer School of Dance for 28 years. The studio is an amazing family style community. The qualified instructors put their expertise along with heart and soul into every class, and into every child. The dance instruction is held to the highest standards, worldwide. The studio has the best pre-school programs, and every class style available from recreational to competitive. The instructors are constantly training to bring the highest level to the programs. My daughter has been dancing at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance for over 11 years. She started out with one Prep Steps class and through the years has become a full time student in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap and Lyrical dance. I began dancing at Shelley Shearer School of Dance at the age of 4 and immediately fell in love with dancing. I began with Ballet and Jazz, and ended up enjoying it so much I enrolled in Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre, and Lyrical. With 2 trained teachers in every classroom, every student gets individual attention and is challenged in a positive environment.
