Coakleys
Coakleys is "your one stop service shop." That means that we're here to provide you with an unmatched, extensive selection of services. If you need something fixed, repaired, or adjusted to meet your needs, bring it to Coakleys. We are here to serve you and bring you the best deals in town. After about a year and half of looking for the right location, we're now open for business right downtown London.

Coakleys is located at 57 York Street, right on the corner of Ridout Street and York Street. Come on down to Unit 2. We're right beside the LCBO! A lot of time and thought was put into the name Coakleys. First off, it is named after the owner and operator Gary Coakley. That's not the only reason the name was chosen, though.

I wish I took before and after pictures of my old Jordans. The people at Coakleys have them looking good again. Soles were falling off and these guys did everything to get them back on solid again. I was pleasantly surprised by the price, always assumed a cobbler would be expensive...but much cheaper then replacing the shoes. Very pleased and will go back with all my shoe needs.

Known as the axe man due to a backpacking chopping incident. The skill and professionalism the team at Coakleys perform on my Asolo 535's surpassed anything I thought imaginable. When I pick up my boots the quality and skill of a true craft person, surpassed my expectations. The timeline was two day and they actually crushed it. They will have my business indefinitely and will promote them to the hiking/backpacking community!

I am a shoe enthusiast and own over 100 pairs of shoes. One of my preferred brands is Dacks (now known as Matthew Dacks). Their shoes run $300+ a pair, with average price at around $600.
I had contacted Matthew Dacks about rebuilding an old pair of Dacks. They recommended a few places, including Coakleys. I checked out Gary's work on his facebook… page. Wow, great results across the board. So I sent him 3 pairs.
1. Vintage Florsheim in shell cordovan. This pair I bought used and were in rough shape. Original price in the 1980s would have been $800+ USD. Gary removed old soles, heels, cork

I took my Birkenstock flip flops to get the cork base repaired and I was not disappointed. The repair was reasonably priced and the sandals were ready to be picked up within two days. Not only did Coakley's fix my flip flops, but when I mentioned a disconnected zipper on my suitcase, they were able to fix that as well free of charge. I could not be happier with the way my sandals turned out and I am very grateful that they were able to look at my suitcase and fix the zipper. Excellent service all around!!

They did amazing work on my leather purse! I had a nasty sanitizer stain. It’s so faint now that you have to look deeply for it harder than a Where’s Waldo. They expertly took care of it with great service. VERY happy!

I met Gary at Farmboy, and his charm convinced to bring my Allen Edmonds shoes to him. I typically send them away for repairs, but Gary promised them back in two weeks and that they would be perfect. I got a surprise call after a week that they were done. I picked them up and they were like new! I have found my new spot and Gary is an awesome guy to just talk to about many subjects. Thank you Gary, I will be telling anyone, who will listen, about you.

Gary’s skills and customer service cannot be beat. He does great work and really cares about his customers. I brought in my work boots to be resoled and tuff toed. We had an issue with the new sole (completely out of his control) and he has done everything possible to stand behind his work and make sure I was satisfied. Could not be more happy I chose to support Coakleys

Contacted Gary and asked if he could repair a pair of leather hiking boots. Without hesitation he responded with a quote. Few days later leather hiking boots were repaired and they are as new even they are 20+ year old. He is extremely talent and professional - I am extremely happy about workmanship he put in my boots. Highly recommended.

I had a paid of wedge boots that I've had for about 6 years that were very worn. I sent pictures through Facebook and was given an estimate. When I dropped them off I told Gary to do whatever repair was needed (they're my favourite boots and I can't buy them anymore). Gary could've done whatever repairs he thought was necessary. He brought my boots back to life and did exactly what was necessary, was honest and didn't overcharge!!! I am so pleased with the work that was done!
He also recommended sizing for slippers which was bang on!
Thank you for all your hard work it is greatly appreciated!

I have purchased a few items from Coakleys in the past, all have met or far exceeded my expectations. The owner Gary is great, his store has a great selection, and his professionalism in an almost forgotten art is to be admired. I am leaving this review not because of my many great experiences with his establishment, but because of that of my families. Gary has always taken care of my aunts restorations, from boots to shoes, Gary works magic in making old look new. I ask in writing this review if you are looking for a skilled cobbler, who is also very professional and fair. Look up Coakleys...

I purchased my cowboy boots from them at the first ever Trackside. I love the look of my boots so much, I couldn't give them up. I took them to Coakley's to be resoled. They did an excellent job, so glad I didn't have to give up my boots! I will forever be a customer.

I didn't buy a shoe there, but I can say that the people who work there are fabulous. I forgot to print my bus ticket and ran over to them asking to use their wifi. They didn't even hesitate to help me even though I wasn't making a purchase.

I came in here a couple of weeks ago looking for a coin-type battery for a digital thermometer. They didn't have the battery I was looking for but the staff member was very friendly and tried to be as helpful in the circumstance including recommending other places to try.
