Sombra Township Child Care Inc. is a non-profit, incorporated Early Learning Program with a warm, interactive and stimulating environment. Our programs meet or exceed all regulations and standards as determined by the Child Care and Early Years Act, Ministry of Education and the requirements of the County of Lambton.
Upon completion of the annual licensing inspection, a renewal license is issued by the Ministry of Education and is posted at the entrance to each of our sites. STCC is licenced for children from 3 months to 12 years. We currently have 108 licenced spaces. Through play, PELP helps prepare young children for life by developing five age-appropriate school readiness skills: physical, emotional, social, language and cognitive development.

Services
Our story begins some 26 years ago when a small group of moms and their children were invited to a play time at Carol's house. During our weekly play time it was clearly identified that this space was not large enough and the playgroup was moved to the Port Lambton Community Hall. Toys were borrowed from the toy lending library in Wallaceburg, snacks provided by the parents and attendance continued to increase.
Our Early ON Child & Family Drop in is open Tuesday & Thursday from 9:00-11:30. This is a free program for families with children ages infant to 5 years. Parents, Grandparents can access many resources and contacts to other professionals i.e. Public Health Nurse, Literacy Specialist, Sound Start Speech and Language, Dietician and many other programs geared to children.
Our classrooms are located in the middle of the school and are accessed by the main entrance of the school. We offer summer, PA days, and March Break programs for Preschoolers to School Age children. This space is licenced for 1 Preschool classroom with 16 spaces and 1 School Age classroom with 20 spaces.
Our mission is to provide families a chance to access quality services which meet their needs. Our objective is to instill positive self-esteem, link clients with other agencies and provide a stimulating environment to help children reach their full potential. We are now seeking an individual to join our organization.
