Unlike other gymnastics clubs, Flipside does NOT require parents to volunteer at the facility or fund raising. Our Commitment: To provide quality gymnastics instruction with maximum activity level in a well structured, fun and safe environment. Although we generally design our class schedules around suitable times and days for students, we still run courses based on current enrollments.
If the minimum amount of student required to run the class are not met one week before the start date the decision to cancel that particular class so students can choose an alternative. With an average of 500 actively registered students in attendance and waiting lists for various classes, it makes good sense to register early and avoid the disappointment of not getting the desired coach, class day and time to fit your schedule.

Services
New Vaccination Card protocols set down by BC Provincial Health Office. Due to adults 19+ years assisting children during Parent & Tot classes we require all adults attending to comply with showing their Vaccination Cards before entering the facility. Philosophy - The program is structured to encourage parent & child interaction in a gymnastics environment.
Philosophy - The emphasis is on fun, and learning basic gymnastic movements and vocabulary. Structure - Safe physical development, attention to body placement and skills appropriate to the age group are stressed. The majority of these skill progressions are basic to movement patterns found in our 14 color/level 'CanGym' program modeled after the Gymnastics Canada Gymnastique (GCG) 'CanGym' national program.
Accomplishment - Progress reports are provided to students upon fitness assessments dates, followed by our 'CanGym' medallions. The actual medallion is Gold in colour while the colour of the sticker represents progress being made. Within each level there are an average of 36 gymnastics skills that are distributed among the floor exercise, rings, vault, parallel and uneven bars, high bar, trampoline, pommel horse, and balance beam.
Students in the Advance Recreational program may eventually be invited into one of the higher level competitive programs. Performance A - This program is an "Invite Only" program. Gymnasts are invited to this program based on their work ethic, skill ability as well as a positive attitude. Performance B - This program is an "Invite Only" program.
We do not support any coaching styles or training methods that do not contribute to the psychological development of the athletes. Prerequisites - A quarterly news letter will be sent out inviting all existing students to take part in our trials for entrance into the Performance (6-12 yrs), Pre-competitive (5-7 yrs), and Competitive (6-17 yrs) programs for boys and girls.

We had tried the nanaimo Flipside before and it was excellent but we felt this was not the case for the Parksville Flipside. we felt very disappointed with our recent weeklong experience there. we found it to be very dirty and our son did very little gymnastics, so little in fact, that one day the instructor told me they hadn't done any at all! and this was a 3 hour session! if I'd known it was going to be just a week of play I would have signed our son up for an outdoor camp instead of in what I found to be a stinky gym!
