I chose to pursue a career in Chiropractic medicine following a lengthy recovery from a serious automobile accident. I was 18 years old and sustained 3 spinal fractures in my lower back. After three years of rehab, my condition failed to improve. In 1986 while studying at UBC, my future wife encouraged me to see a Chiropractor.

I was impressed by how quickly my condition improved after a series of Chiropractic treatments. After getting married, we moved to Toronto to go to Chiropractic College together. When school was completed, we moved back to Vancouver and are now raising two wonderful boys.
Services
I have been a Registered Massage Therapist for the past 24 years. Dr. Morris Gasparin is my chiropractor of choice not only for the patients I refer, but for my entire family! His treatments are extremely effective as he uses ART (Active Release Therapy) combined with precise, selective adjustments when needed.
No, you do not need a referral prior to seeing a chiropractor. Chiropractors are legislated as primary contact health professionals in every province in Canada. This means that patients can consult them directly without the need for referral from their medical doctor.

However, chiropractors often work closely with medical doctors, many of whom refer to chiropractors when they believe chiropractic treatment will help alleviate a patient's condition.Similarly, chiropractors frequently refer to medical doctors when necessary. X-rays can play an important role in diagnosis and are taken only when a need has been determined after taking a patient's case history and conducting a physical examination.
Chiropractic is a primary health care profession specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions related to the muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves and joints of the body. Doctors of Chiropractic also educate their patients on various aspects of overall health and wellness including: diet, exercise, ergonomics and stress management.
Active Release Techniques (ART) has become one of most sought after soft-tissue treatments in the world today. ART is a patented, non-invasive soft tissue technique that simultaneously locates and breaks down adhesions and mobilizes scar tissue that accompany soft tissue injuries.

Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
It is within the central nervous system that the neurological programming for posture and movement are established. This 'motor control' is established during the first few critical years of life. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) is not a technique. It is a system of evaluation and treatment that is based upon the developmental aspects of motor control to assess and restore function to the locomotor system.

Dr. Lana Gasparin was great!! The examination was thorough and the doctor explained exactly what she was doing and why and where my pain was coming from. I learned a lot about other contributing health factors that no other doctor had taken the time to figure out. I know now that I can look forward to being pain free soon. Thank you !!!!!

Not only is he a patient and gifted practitioner, he also happens to be one of the just plain nicest people you’ll ever meet. My massage therapist Kirsten referred me to Dr. Devon, thank you so much Kirsten for understanding my pain and referred to the right person. Dr. Morris Gasperin has seen two of my children. He has been brilliant and thorough in each visit in finding the underlying cause and source of pain, and treating the cause rather than just the symptoms.

First time visiting, I have never met anyone in this field as skilled and knowledgeable. An excellent communicator for everyone to understand which makes the healing process much easier and informative. 10 stars if possible. She sets the bar high for the industry.

I have seen Morris many times over the years and have nothing but good experiences. When my body wasn't retaining relief from certain types of the treatments, he always found other techniques to incorporate, with long-term healing being the end goal. On top of Morris being a great person, his reception staff are top notch! I have also seen Devon a couple of times who is another great practitioner. Nothing but good vibes here!
