Olive the Lake is one of Northern Ontario's premier lodges, located on a 10 Square Mile private access lake, yes that's right! What does that mean? Well, no waterskiiers, jet skies and no outside boats and the only people you will see on Olive Lake are those staying at the lodge or the two other cottages found on the lake.
Marten Lake is located 10 minutes from Olive the Lake Lodge, in Marten River Ontario. For those that have the ability to bring their own boats, Marten Lake is an amazing lake and a great fishery. Marten Lake is located down Marten Lake Road in Marten River Ontario. There is an amazing boat lauch. No problem for any size of boat.
Olive the Lake Fishing Lodge - a cottage expereince located in Marten River is surrounded by dozens of lakes. For those that have the ability to bring their own boats, you have more than one choice when it comes to bodies of water. The small inlets and large open water carry all species of fish. Some areas of Red Cedar Lake gets to depths of 100 feet or more, especially in the north channel.
Olive the Lake was host to Canada in the Rough TV in 2014, Hitmen Canada in 2015, and Wicked Tine Outdoors in 2018. These were amazing experiences in which we were able to harvest mature bears and share the adventure with viewers. With the relaunch of the full Ontario Spring Bear Hunt in 2016, we are able to offer even more bear hunting opportunities.

Pretty nice spot. Nice smaller lake and I think over the years the fishing is becoming better due largely to responsible fish management guidelines set up by the owner. Used to wonder about all the fuss over the beds but wow..they are super comfortable which is great on a fishing trip. We fish mainly smallies and no disappointments here. Very kid friendly.

I've been to Temagami a few times over the years. This past September we stayed at "Olive the Lake" for bear hunting and fishing. This was by far the best place. The most organized outfitter I've ever hunted with. Dave is awesome, put us right on the bear. Cabins we're great, fishing was great, but I was mostly there to hunt. We've already booked our spot for next fall. Dave , his wife and sons made us feel very welcome there. We are looking forward to our bear hunt next fall.

The most perfect cottage getaway! My boyfriend, our dog and I stayed in the 2 person cabin and it was everything we could have hoped for and more! Dave and Cara were amazing hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed and were very attentive. The 2 person cabin is very private, great for a couple to get away and enjoy each others company. We were supplied with our own private fire pit, BBQ, and fishing boat which is what put this trip over the top! The fishing was great, we both caught a huge bass. Their screened in patio was a perfect addition, we could enjoy the weather despite the bugs

Hands down best trip North!
The weather wasn’t very cooperative but we definitely made the best of the week!
So many reasons why I am giving a 5 star review, so I will break it down.
Owner & Family;
Fantastic people! Very welcoming and kind. Super attentive. We feel they went above and beyond to make our stay a good one and every chance that was available Dave was taking the kids tubing! I’ve always wanted to see a Moose and was given the advice on where to best see one, and I did!
Cabins;
We stayed in cabin 5, closest to the water. Cabin was very clean, and had a very homey feel to it
The weather wasn’t very cooperative but we definitely made the best of the week!

I've been to Olive 4 going on 5 times now . We go the same time every year and I keep saying once a year just isn't enough. This year we are lucky enough to get 2 trips in and I am beyond happy. Olive is a beautiful place for the wives who don't fish and just want to relax and swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery . There is also activities for the kids so that's an added bonus. Those who do Fish , well you won't be disappointed. I myself just started casting a line last year , this year I will venture out with the hubby in the boat . The owners of the Lodge are the best , they are right there when

Our family had a great time here! The cabin was clean and well-furnished. Beds are super comfortable and we loved having a screen porch for morning coffee (and evening cocktails). And a bathtub clean enough to bathe my kids every night! Nice little beach with shallow area for the little kids plus an awesome slide in the middle for everyone else. The kids also loved the trampoline. We didn't fish but everyone in the cabins around us seemed to do well out on the lake...they were BBQing their catch every night. Owners were great; checked in on us every day. A relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting
