Small Business owner, that accounting just charge way too much compared to the others... They requested me 3.5k in fees and didn't get anything done. I quit for another accounting charging less and even i already paid Emerald without an refund possible, i still save money.
We you start a new business, you don't have a lot of money and this is why it is important to know this accounting service is not appropriate for. And more, they are requesting you so much job sending all printed papers and do their work, then they are not offer stress release.

I have owned my own business for over 20 years. Moved to Emerald less then 5 years ago. Since I have moved I have had wonderful prompt service, great advice, and best of all they have saved me the most $$$'s in taxes versus my last chartered account that I had used prior. Thanks Emerald!

Had the worst experience with this accounting firm. We started with Saphire for our personal accounting then started a small business and used Emerald which is for the business clients. This was a very poor choice which left us open to audits from the CRA. We were a brand new business at the time and not generating any sales.
We chose to terminate our business with Emerald to save money. It then truly got interesting! We were told to submit monies every month into CRA Payroll by Andrea, the owner, or we would be fined heavily. Well we were so new we didn’t

Although functionally capable of performing the book keeping and tax filing a heavy review was required to ensure that legitimate business expenses were being allocated properly and illegitimate expenses were removed. Mistakes that were made by Emerald were rectified after further payment was required. In a strange way to operate the business the owner felt it was necessary to yell at me and tell me that as the owner of my business I am not responsible for my taxes and that I was expected to allow them to file the business taxes without a review. My experiences with all other staff was nothing
