We are located at 25930 40th Avenue in Aldergrove, British Columbia, proudly serving the Fraser Valley and beyond. After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan and a brief stint in Ontario, Dr. David Paton founded this practice in 1979 as a solo ambulatory large animal veterinary service.
In 1998 Dr. Martin moved from Connecticut, where he worked in a sport horse practice, to the Fraser Valley and in 1999 became a partner in the practice. Following this partnership, the business changed its name to Paton and Martin Veterinary Services Ltd. Drs. Paton and Martin recently expanded their services by building an equine hospital.

Services
Lameness or unsoundness can range from the extreme to the very subtle and is the number one cause of performance related issues. Some problems are obvious at first, while others may present only under certain circumstances. It is important to do a proper physical exam involving palpation as well as evaluating the horse's gait under various conditions.
As an avid horseman, Dr. Paton draws on his experience as a rider as well as his extensive veterinary expertise when caring for horses. He enjoys working with horses and interacting with the equine community at large. Dr. Paton is a long-standing FEI veterinarian accredited in 5 disciplines and is an active participant in both veterinary and equestrian community activities.
We provide urgent medical and surgical care to new patients and existing patients of our veterinary practice. Common emergency procedures seen at the farm and at our hospital include colic, traumatic wounds and severe lameness. Please note that you should call your veterinarian prior to being referred as an emergency patient.
Paton and Martin are very proud to be the first practice in the Fraser Valley to have acquired Digital Radiography, Digital Ultrasound and now a standing MRI unit. The clinical data provided by diagnostic imaging allows us to give you an accurate diagnosis, prognosis and an appropriate treatment plan.
We are capable of providing you access to advanced treatment of musculoskeletal injuries including osteoarthritis and soft tissue injuries. Talk to one of our qualified, knowledgeable veterinarians about which treatments are right for your horse. PRP is a product obtained from your horse's own blood that corresponds to the platelet-rich fraction of blood which is also rich in growth factors.
