Services
Providence Funeral Homes & Crematorium was established in 1983 by the Werner Henseleit family on the 200 block of Martin Street in Penticton. Later they purchased a house on the corner of Bennett and Calgary Ave. to renovate and function as a full service funeral home. In 1987, a major renovation was underway and a larger chapel and reception area were added.

What's the point of having a funeral ceremony? As difficult as it can be to discuss death and dying, it is ultimately more challenging to avoid the topic. Whether you choose simple cremation or green burial, the purpose of a memorial service is to recognize a "life lived". It's also important to understand that funerals are not for the dead but, for the living.

Donald Reitlo's funeral: Our family will always be grateful for the professional and compassionate care we were given by Bob Carlton and the entire team at Providence funeral Homes. At such a difficult time we were given a beautiful ceremony even with the limitations Covid has brought to say good bye to a loved one. Having a live streaming service allowed dear friends and family members to join us virtually. Many thanks to the Providence team for all you did for our family.

I lost my Mom just 3 short weeks ago,, and still can't stop crying. You feel so raw, and you think the world will never be right again.
Going to the funeral home is a major and painful necessity.
Dealing with BOB CARLTON, the funeral director, he made the whole process and decision making a lot less burdensome. He is an absolute professional and extremely empathetic and sympathetic to your circumstances.

Providence was so helpful in guiding me through this very tough time. I had no experience in planing for the passing of a loved one, and when my mom passed I was completely lost. Kevin really put me at ease. He took care of everything and did so in a very professional and compassionate way. Thanks to Kevin and all the wonderful staff at Providence.

Very professional, compassionate and friendly staff, Kevin walked my family and I through all our options, explaining everything we needed to know, and do during our difficult time. Even went as far as giving us his cell phone number just in case we needed a question answered after hours. We held my brother's celebration of life right at the beautifully decorated Providence. Wonderful people. Highly recommended.

From the moment I spoke to Providence Staff I knew that I was in good hands. They were kind, understanding, reassuring, worked with our needs / budget in mind and took care of all the details for us. They made this difficult experience a seamless, easy process. Nolan kept in touch with us each step of the way letting us know what was needed… next. He stepped up to the plate the night before the service to help us with a job we just didn't get to! They even offered - and took - pictures of the service and grave side - AT NO EXTRA charge! We are ever so grateful for those memories. We couldn

I have the upmost respect for the owners/management/staff at Providence Funeral Homes. They are consistently supporting the community in numerous ways. Through sponsorships, volunteer hours and use of their space for events. They are clearly visible in the community. Professional services with a beautiful facility. HIGHLY recommend!
