O.D.S. Marine is pleased to announce that we are the first commercial diving company in Canada to utilize a specially designed KOOL SUIT which reduces the diver's heat stress while working in high temperature contaminated waters. These conditions are often encountered at industrial and nuclear plants, chemical aeration ponds and outfalls.
The installation rig we designed and built for the work was unique according to the anchor manufacturer in Colorado. The Manta Ray anchors we installed are a new product based on an old idea. This particular application was to restrain floating docks at a marina, the first such installation in Canada.
The original regulation #634 came into effect in 1986 and outlined minimum standards for equipment, personnel and procedures. After a "settling in" period during which both the industry and M.O.L. ironed out definitions and interpretations of what was required it was mutually decided that further clarification and minor changes were needed to make enforcement and compliance easier and more fair and also to increase safety for the worker.
