Northern Security is a family-owned-and-operated company that started as a locksmith providing customers with mobile services. As our customer base grew, we opened our first store on Elm Street. Today, we serve a broad range of clients across Northern Ontario. It all began on a beautiful spring day in 1976, at an Oak Street duplex in the west end of Sudbury.

It is kind of hard to believe, but Tony and Ellen learned the craft through a mail order course, which they immediately applied to real-world experiences.

Chipped/Transponder: Keys with transponders in the heads used to start engines of current vehicle models. The helpful storefront staff include shop technicians that can help answer your questions, as well as perform a variety of in-shop locksmith duties.

Bought a used Corolla (2017) in October and it only came with one key. I was unsure of cost to have one made, nor was I sure if they had an OEM key. I went into the store and they had one more basic ignition key, exactly what I wanted and at a reasonable price. They had it cut and programmed to the car in less than 10 minutes. Apart from being slightly less smooth than the factory key that the car came with, I’ve had absolutely no issues since October.

Absolutely amazing service, would recommend this establishment to even my grandmother as I know they're honest and not there to rip you off. Also have prices far better than anywhere I've gone. Competitors charge nearly double. Service was great and very informative, if you need a key for anything Norther Security is the place to go!:)
