There are a number of things you can do to prepare for a successful surgery. Things like common exercises such as low impact aerobic exercise can help build strength and prevent pain in the weeks leading up to surgery. You may also want to get a dental examination to ensure there's no risk of infection, or pre-emptively donate blood.
When experiencing shoulder pain, a history and physical examination by either a doctor or physical therapist is a good start. Depending on the diagnosis, your physician may order some tests like an xray, ultrasound or MRI. The most common injuries involve the rotator cuff mechanism (either inflammation or a tear), instability, labral injuries, a frozen shoulder, or arthritis.
Adrian enjoys helping others reach their peak condition, whether it is managing stress and tension from day to day office work or training long hours for the next race or game. Many years of experience taught Adrian to manage different situations regarding dysfunction of the body including volunteer work at a Hospice Kitchener, marathons and at the University of Guelph working with athletes.
Alana has always had a passion for helping others and after experiencing Physiotherapy for sport injuries of her own, she knew this was the profession for her. Alana joined the Wellington Ortho & Rehab team in May of 2014. Prior to that she worked in Mississauga, primarily treating young athletes.

Great staff, and doctors, everyone is very kind and professional.
Had ACL surgery by Dr. McKenzie and it went very well, and Sean set me up with an ACL brace, both men are amazing and I only had to wait a few months for my surgery.

Dr Galvin is second to none. She ensures that your injections are comfortable, I go annually and will not hesitate to go back there next year when needed again. All the staff is very polite, accommodating and just friendly.

Dr. Patti Galvin was extremely rude to my mother, a recovering stroke patient. Her skill as a doctor aside, she had extremely poor bedside manner and treated my mother flippantly and with no regard for her feelings as a recovering stroke patient. She made my mother feel stupid, and made her feel unsafe. I wish the interaction had been recorded so we could make a more formal complaint. Prospective patients, I hope Dr. Galvin does not treat you with the utter disrespect she showed to my mother. Our family is disappointed and appalled at the lack of professionalism shown by Dr. Galvin. Even if Dr

Business 1st, therapy 2nd. Very smart business. Advised against surgery, as the natural healing process would take much longer, thereby lengthening the therapy. $60 for maybe 10 min of therapy. 10 min of therapist watching the clock. Be very careful if you do not have coverage. They will try to milk until dry. Stay away.

This isn’t just a physio clinic. There’s several different specialists including mine, Dr. Al Shakman. He is very good at what he does. I already knew that I have knocked knees before my first appointment and found out my femurs are rotated outward, also needing correction. I am currently recovering from surgery on my left leg. Don’t be offended if he is rushing you because he is one of a few specialists for Guelph and the surrounding area and has to see a lot of patients in a day.

Had surgery for a Torn Rotor Cuff and needed to wear an Immobilizer Sling. Prior to surgery you have to see a specialist to get your sling fitted properly. The specialist did a wonderful job.
After surgery when I went to put on the sling for some reason I forgot that it was fitted perfectly for me and I got a person to refit it for me as I was placing it on. Then I went for physiotherapy later that afternoon. Once I was there I told my physiotherapist that it didn't feel quite right. He asked me if I had readjusted the sling and I replied with a Yes. He had remind me that it was fitted for me

Alana Morrison has been my physiotherapist for over a year, first for a workplace injury and then after a motorcycle accident had me non weight bearing for 5 months. The difference a half hour weekly appointment makes combined with her printing off Home Exercise Program sheets for me and explaining the how, what and why's in regards to my pain and or injury questions has been amazing! Love the holistic approach to my getting better. :-)
